Nick walked into the hospital later that morning and was immediately greeted by a nurse passing by.
“Good morning, Doctor Lee,” she said and then giggled behind her hand.
He dipped his head and returned the greeting.
At first, Nick hadn’t found the occurrence strange. When it was repeated with five other nurses, he became suspicious.
While jogging down the hallway of the Recovery Unit, Nick spotted Parker. His friend recognized him and tried to duck his head and slink away.
Nick caught up to the escaping doctor and slapped him on the back.
“Nice try, Park.”
Parker straightened his coat. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“I’ll deal with you later,” Nick promised. “What’s up with all the nurses this morning?”
