As we marched out of the palace gates, heading towards the kingdom's boundary where the battle would hold, I couldn't help but feel unsettled. I hated how bothered I felt, about not seeing her before I left. We had last seen each other yesterday on a very terrible note, and I thought she deserved an apology. She had felt insulted, and giving an apology was the least I could do.
I spent a better part of my night, thinking about the state of our relationship. Within me, I knew that she would reject me after the war.
