KAEDYR “You disgust me.” Her words echoed in my ears as she walked away. I normally don’t care about how she views me or whatever opinion the tiny princess had of me. I knew I was the bad guy, the enemy. So having those opinions about me was valid; it wasn’t like they weren’t true anyway. Besides, it worked in my favor that she thought those things about me because it kept her where she belonged, which was more than several arms reach away from me. I like it that way. I wasn’t looking to fraternize with her. That was never my intention; getting close to her all those months ago, so I could complete my mission. Yet, hearing her utter those words—her disgust for me—it felt weird. I felt the slow start of a pang in my chest; it would’ve probably gone unnoticed if I hadn't paid attention.
