Infatuation

"Al-lex.." a sigh of relief escaped his quivering lips hearing her voice after a long time. His hold around the glass loosened and he quickly came back in his senses. "Eva...how are you? Where the f**k are you, Eva?" His impatient voice welcomed her making her smile sadly. The typical Alex behaviour. She was expecting this only and this was one of the reasons, she didn't tell him anything sooner. "I..I am fine and at home." She replied. He exhaled sharply as his heart felt at peace a bit. He wanted to see her but due to his brother, he was stuck in an unknown country far from his Eva. "Where are you?" She asked frowning. She already knew he was not in Australia as he would have definitely tried reaching out to her if he were here. "Turkey." He gritted cursing his fate. "What? When did you go there?" She questioned again. As far as she knew, he didn't have any relatives in Turkey or in any part of the world for that matter. "The day he threatened you." Her body froze hearing his answer. "Brother brought me with him to Turkey forcefully." He completed with a sigh. Now, everything was making sense. She placed all the bits and pieces together and the puzzle was finally solved. "He won't trouble you anymore." So, Xavier was not lying when he said this with so much confidence. A part of her was relieved that he didn't do any harm to Alex and his brother but another part of her loathed him for taking away her bestfriend from her. They had been best buddies since kindergarten only. She loves Alex but not in a romantic way, it is more like the way a sister would love his brother. But that vile man misunderstood their relationship and destroyed everything. "Tell me, Eva. He is not bothering you anymore, right?" Alex asked hopefully. Eva opened her mouth to say something but couldn't utter a word. She was well prepared to tell him everything but now she was feeling an inner turmoil. "Brother told me he will save you. He did, right? Say something, Eva!" He demanded desperately. "I am marrying him, Alex." His body stilled and he couldn't hear her voice anymore. She was saying something but he was paying no heed to it. "Alex...Alex, are you there?" The broken shards of glass pierced through his palm after he broke the glass in his hand. "He left me no choice, Alex. I..I ne-eed to do th-his." His heart clenched in pain hearing her sobs. He never felt this helpless before. He felt as if his hands were tied and mouth was taped. His best friend, his soulmate was withering in pain and he could do absolutely nothing about it. Shame on him! He ended the call and threw the phone against the wall making it shatter. His nose was flaring in anger and breathing was uneven. The blood was dripping off his left hand but cared less. He felt betrayed. His own blood betrayed him. Why? He needed answers and he will get them. .. MEANWHILE.. He was staring at the photo frame for God knows how long. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't tear his gaze away from that beautiful face. In the photo, she was smiling brightly looking at the camera. Her hair was tied into two pigtails and she was wearing a white hoodie. She was going to become his wife after a week. Although, he wanted to marry her after two days but her parents thought it would be too early and unwillingly, he had to bow before their decision. He gritted not wanting to be away from his angel any longer. Her parents were indeed a pain in the as*. Her eyes were shining and lips had a huge grin. She was looking happy. "Why don't you look happy around me?" He muttered tracing his finger on the photo. He knew the answer but still a part of him was being oblivious to the hurt he had caused her. He didn't want to acknowledge the fact that he was forcing her to marry him and that he was practically destroying the life of an innocent and ambitious girl. The girl who was eight years younger than him. But he couldn't help the infatuation. He needed her by his side. For how long, he didn't know. Maybe for few months or years, he was sure he will get bored of her soon and then she will live her life freely. It was just a mere infatuation, isn't it? He was still lost in his thoughts when his phone rang. His eyes darkened and the small smile vanished off his lips seeing the name flashing on his cell phone. Placing the frame on it's place, he picked up the call. A smirk appeared on his lips when the other person spoke. "We have found him, Boss."
