CHAPTER 6AT THE GATES OF KHEV As the moons rose up over the edges of the world, the Prince of Grand Khev stood on a hilltop, marshalling his few remaining knights and yeomen for one last stand against the Thungoda. Already, the city itself was invested by the Hordesmen. The black smoke of burning palaces stained the clean night air; moonslight gleamed on the broken wall of the city, where siege-engines had riven a rude path through the smooth stone.
