Towards mid-morn they reached the wizard’s tower. A little rest and some wine and food had restored Kellory’s strength—or most of it. Only he knew how terribly his reserves of Power had been drained in fighting off the shioggua. He dreaded the next adversary, for surely the Lord of Shadows had left more than one Guardian to stand watch over his demesne.
