Daylight Demon Lilith

2005 Words
Have you ever been in a situation in your life that you would call unreal. Has there been a time in your life that some of the most unexpected meetings and encounters happen to you. David was in a situation like that right now. Lilith used to be a celebrity ability user, in fact she could still be considered one, she had only chose to go of the radar due to a series of unfortunate events. Meeting her would have been considered a dream come true for many people or a nightmare, if the world was still normal. But now things were a lot different especially when you consider the circumstances behind their meeting. The sun had already gone down, and the solar street lamps could be seen glowing under the water that now covered almost ninety percent of Victoria island. And from where he was standing, David could see the mainland bridge. It might be too early to feel relived, but David could not help it, today has been rather intense and he would very much prefer to be completely off this island for safety sake. David felt Lilith shift behind him, he quickly moved his left hand behind him and pulled her close enough so that she would be leaning on him. Even though the Mana water had stopped her bleeding, she had still lost a lot of blood. And that was something the Mana water would not be able to fix immediately without enough time. But with the amount of blood lost, it was inevitable that she would feel anemic and dizzy, it was taking all of their focus and will power to make sure she doesn’t ends up falling off the hover bike. This situation however shook a particular sense of awareness into David’s body. Even with great abilities and power, especially for someone like Lilith who was found to have a rare psy column evaluation of level five, there was only so much they could do. Because technically they’re still human. Their evolutions gave them access to a whole host of fearsome and dangerous abilities, it earns them the respect and adoration of Gods from normal people, but in the end without a body of iron or an ability to constantly regenerate their own cells, they are still subjected to the dangers and misfortunes of mortals, sometimes it’s a whole lot worse for them. Lilith was a perfect example of unfortunate. About three to almost four years ago, she was an eighteen year old high school graduate who got into the prestigious Hollywood school of abilities. It was actually a college or a university since Hollywood only had a policy of training people considered adults and with a rather good and comprehensive result, so you had to be eighteen and above to enroll. It was the super hero equivalent of an ivy league college and being a student there came with a lot of perks, chief among them was fame. Lilith was actually just like him, born in a family that was predominantly military in their upbringing. But unlike David’s own rather normal family, hers has had a reputation of producing some of the best soldiers and fighters of the twelve city states in over two hundred years. As such right from the moment she was born, she had been placed in the spotlight. After she got into the school with the highest psy column evaluation in three hundred and seventeen years, she was drafted as a face for a campaign against insurgents, criminals and pirates along the coasts and on the islands that dotted and surrounded the single continent of Pangea. For a while everything was good, she was earning a lot of ratings and her fans loved her. She was going to be the poster child of the governments power and supremacy while also earning a lot of money and reputation. Then she was given a job that most would consider risky and a little too premature at that point in time. But she had taken it and was resolute in her aim to complete it. Far to the north eastern edge of the continent, was a sea dotted and covered with the most significant amount of islands and underwater mines filled with really rare and precious ores. But those islands were inhabited by tribes and empires of ancients civilizations who were still thriving and were the only people who refused to submit to the rule of the twelve city states. David had an understanding that those islands were filled with people who were a perfect replica of both Samoans and Asians from earth. It was the only place on Pangea that could really be considered their home as they have been there for as long as civilization on this planet existed. But they were sitting on a mountain of money and resources, resources that the fathers and mothers of the twelve city states had need of. It was only a matter of time before a conflict that has lasted almost two hundred years started between the twelve and empires and tribes of the spirit sea. The twelve city states announced that the islands were enemies, and that their government was no longer recognized. Those islands were now considered inhabited by rebels and criminals and were slotted for total annihilation. The islands of the spirit sea, was the only battlefront in Pangea unless you wanted to count the small skirmishes with criminals and rogue ability users who feel entitled due to their power. Skirmishes like that happened within the continent on a daily basis. The twelve city states pulled the trigger first, and islanders retaliated by plundering cities along the coasts and hijacking any ship of the twelve that sails or flies across their waters. Fast forward to a hundred plus years and you have a prince who is rapidly uniting the tribes and empires under one banner. The one problem the islanders have had that has not enabled them to fight the twelve on equal footing was the fact that they were not united. But with such a development in play the twelve felt threatened. They would have been quite comfortable to let this conflict drag itself out until the people of the spirit sea exhaust their selves and their resources, which with the constant attacks on, and from the twelve, never gave them enough time or chance to realize their full potential. And so they sent an ambassador to lobby for peace, they sent Lilith. By then she was already known as a woman whose beauty was only matched by her ruthlessness on the field of battle. Her fans loved her not because she was expectedly gentle like the movies stars and singers of earth, no they loved her because she was a bloodthirsty killer who never left an enemy alive. She was known for having a reputation in killing everything and everyone included within her mission parameters, if she has to kill criminal that’s hiding in the slums, and you, a person who lives there knows this guy’s a criminal but doesn’t report him, Lilith would consider such a person an accomplice and murder every member of that person’s family, all the way to very last pest in their cupboard. Such display of ferociousness and wanton lust for destruction and death also garnered her a lot of critics and enemies. But her philosophy of always destroying “evil” from the root also garnered a lot more supporters than critics, the drones of their voice and support was enough to bury anything a critic had to say. So when it was mentioned that Lilith, a woman who was known as the daylight demon was going to the spirit sea as an ambassador to meet the new prince who had unified the whole of the spirit sea islands, everyone knew this was not a diplomatic mission, this was an assassination mission. There was little to be done regarding this issue, if the islanders refuse it might actually spark a full scale war. A war which they were not yet ready to fight. Lilith was welcomed with open arms and was a personal guest of the prince, now emperor of what was now called the spirit empire of Rodinia. At first everything went well, then two weeks later Lilith cut off all communication from the twelve. Billions of people feared the worst had happened and so the forces of the twelve now with an excuse to attack, prepared for war. But war was not a simple thing which means a lot of preparations were to be made, and the fact is, the twelve wanted the empire sweating in their seats in fear and anticipation of the upcoming war, they wanted to play mind games with their enemy. Suddenly a month before the scheduled clash of the titans, a spy of the twelve released a video all over Pangea. Lilith was never harmed or captured, she abandoned Pangea, and she did all this because she had fallen in love and married the emperor in secret. The day light demon had become the empress of the spirit sea. At first most people thought it was a political move on her part, but more videos surfaced of the two, videos taken in secret which led the world to understand that she really did abandon her post and duty for love. David felt it was completely stupid and illogical, and he was not the only one who thoughts so. How can you fall in love and marry your enemy in a span of two weeks, granted she was just a teenager then and could be considered still a child, but Love doesn’t work that way right?. David could not be sure, but that decision of hers drove the twelve even more mad than the knowledge she was hurt. They attacked in full force, laying waste to much of the spirit sea and its empire of islands. But the twelve suffered massive losses too, but in the end they succeeded in their aim. The emperor was left with no choice but to divorce Lilith and marry another woman immediately to save the lives of his people. A series of sanctions was placed on the empire effectively turning them into slaves for the twelve, and Lilith was banished from the islands and was court marshaled by the twelve city states. She lost everything, all of her fame became infamy, all of her fans became critics, and all of her critics became bystanders as even they were shocked by her actions. But it did not end there for her, in the span of two weeks Lilith had murdered seventy percent of the delegate who delivered the sanctions to the empire and stripped her of her rank in the military. Included in this delegate was the former father of the city of angels, a man who was both the dean of her former school, and one of her staunchest supporters. She also severely wounded the mother of the city of wonders and left the remaining seven people who had quite high achievements and reputation burnt and in pieces. She disappeared after that, but not before gaining some really fatal injuries. David would not have known it was her if he had not watched her performance and seen her particular skill sets, her trademark black hair seemed to have also turned white with grief. David was worried about people recognizing her just like he did, but he was sure the knowledge of who she was, would be enough to deter anybody. But all this warranted a question, if she was so damn strong, how come she wasn’t able to leave the island with her child, a child that David was rapidly beginning to realize was probably the son of the emperor of Rodinia. Lilith was powerful enough then to kill somebody who would be considered the most powerful person in the city of angels, but now she was stuck crying for help from the rooftop of a building.
