"I heard you," He spoke more quietly now. It sounded more risky. "And then I watched you go on a date with him two days later. And that's when I decided."
His hand moved away from my face. His look changed. It was serious again. It was a bit overwhelming.
He went to the desk and picked up a folder.
"Junior Executive Liaison," he said. "Starting salary, one hundred and fifty thousand a year. Full benefits. Signing bonus of twenty thousand, paid today."
I blinked hard and forced myself to shift gears with him. "That's three times what a junior intern makes."
"I'm not hiring an intern," he said. "I'm hiring you."
