Episode 15: If devil fell in love

767 Words
As he drove the car, my heart was still racing like it might burst out. He just... just confessed. I couldn't believe my ears. I kept staring at him while he was driving. "Snow White, if you keep staring at me like that, how am I supposed to focus on the road?" he said, smiling. I quickly looked away. "I wasn't staring." "Yes, yes. I’m the one who’s continuously staring, right?" He laughed. I looked at him. He wasn’t being his usual cold, rude self. He was smiling, laughing, and it made my heart do a stupid little slip. When we reached the mansion, he carried me inside, straight to his room. My body was still feverish. As the cold wind from outside hit me, I clung to him, shivering. He put me down on the bed. "Why the hell did you have to go out? You should’ve yelled at me, slapped me, or whatever you wanted. Not just walk out of the mansion." He scolded me while wiping my hair. "I did that," I whispered. "But you kept saying you wanted a divorce. I’m a human too. I also get hurt." My voice trembled and a tear dropped from my eyes. He sat on the floor, kneeling down. His large, warm hand reached out and wiped my tears. "Go, change your clothes first. Otherwise your fever will get worse." He stood up and from his wardrobe he took out a black t-shirt and trousers. "Take this. Wear it. I know you like oversized clothes. Make yourself comfortable." Without saying anything, I walked to the bathroom and locked the door. My back pressed against it. My cheeks were red and my brain had short-circuited. How could he be this sweet and soft? After changing, I walked out. He had changed too. I walked to the bed and sat down. He came in front of me carrying a tray. "Here, drink this soup. You’ll feel better." He brought the spoon near my mouth. "I can eat by myself." I tried to take the spoon, but he didn’t let me. "You’re treating me like a child." I pouted. He pinched my cheeks, his thumb lingering for a second. "Because you are my little forest." The words made my breath catch. My heart did that stupid flip again. I couldn’t argue, so I let him feed me. "Good girl." He said, placing the bowl on the table. "Now it’s time to take your medicine." His voice wasn’t cold like usual. It was warm. He held the medicine to my mouth. I shook my head. He glared at me. "Open." His voice was firm, but gentle. "It’s bitter." I pushed the medicine away. "Then close your eyes. I won't let it taste bitter this time either." He leaned in, voice dropping to a whisper near my ear. "Just like the first time you got sick here. Do you remember our medicine kiss?" My face went red. And it had nothing to do with the fever but Everything to do with him. I remembered how his soft lips had touched mine. It wasn’t a gentle kiss because he had to feed me the medicine. But still, butterflies started dancing in my stomach when I remembered that. I quickly took the medicine and swallowed it. "You’re evil." I whispered. "Yes, I am, Snow White." I glared at him, but when he looked at me with those warm eyes, I remembered his confession. I quickly looked away. But he gently held my chin and made me look up at him. "Don’t look away, Snow White. Look at me. I will never ever talk about leaving you." He made me lie down and pulled the blanket over me. “Thank you,” I mumbled. “For what?” His eyes were confused. “For not leaving me alone. Like my father. Like my mother did. Thank you.” Tears pricked my eyes. He caught the tears before they could fall and pulled the blanket up to my chin, tugging it so I wouldn’t feel cold. His movements were so gentle. I felt myself slipping into sleep. “Sorry, Snow White,” he whispered. “I took too long.” A gentle, tender kiss pressed to my forehead. After the kiss, he didn’t leave. He sat on the floor beside the bed and rested his head near mine. He looked at me like he was helplessly and hopelessly in love with me. He knew it. And he didn’t want to do anything about it. Except he wants to fall more and more in love with me.
