The black-haired Alpha pulls the redhead girl towards an empty stairway and lets her go immediately, as Novah- no whatever has taken over her body burned him. Theo could feel his soul practically leave his body at his mat- Novah's… he didn't know what to make of the girl in front of him. Her gold eyes staring into his with a playful yet slight calculating expression as she looks him up and down.
Tilting her head to the side, she gives a lazy half-smile. "So baby Alpha wants to talk huh? I promise you, you aren't going to get her back."
Theo glares at her and she pinches his cheek. He smacks her hand away and she lets out a chuckle.
"So Violent."
"Why are you here? Where's Novah?"
Theo couldn't help but growl, the lack of knowledge about his mate fills him with tension and anxiety.
Aoife rolls her eyes. She points to her head and speaks. "Calm down baby Alpha, no need to get all grumpy. She's safe, sleeping because she didn't get any last night."
Aoife smirks at him and Theo shakes his head as if to tell her to keep whatever bullshit she has to herself. She pouts and the bell rings. He notes her slight wince and his hands instinctively go to her ears and rubs the back of them. Her eyes widen, tensing at the unsuspected touch before she relaxes, even slightly purring.
Despite that Novah wasn't there, this being still was a part of his mate. "The ringing sucks if you're not used to it, but I guess they only keep it to piss us off."
She looks up at him curiously before slowly pulling away, reluctant as if she didn't want Theo to stop. "Why do you care? You did reject her."
Theo frowns a bit, a bit uncomfortable under the stare but somehow, it didn't make him feel ridiculous at the genuine curiosity. "I...it going to sound really really stupid, but I was doing to...to protect her. Before yesterday, she was human. I mean I guess she never was human but she was always a wallflower. Always keeping to herself and would snap at most who try to talk to her that we just assumed she didn't like the supernatural. If I reject her, she could live a life away from this and wouldn't have to be pressure in ruling over a pack that brought her discomfort."
Aoife doesn't say anything for a moment before she starts cooing softly, placing a hand on his cheek.
"You're cute for your own good, and goodhearted. I do see where you're coming from but maybe let Novah decide if she needs protecting or not. Although, as someone with a mutual interest in her wellbeing, thanks."
She brushes her thumb across his cheek before turning. "You should head to class, now."
Theo didn't hear her advice nor did the voice change as he traced where her hand was, a slightly dazed look on his face. The bell ranged again and he snaps out of it and quickly leaves for his class, ignoring the amused honey gold eyes.
"He is something else!"
