The Rise of the Female Alpha <3

Chapter 3

After I finished trying on my dress, Beta Aden had to take me to the kitchen to meet Emily so I could finish preparing dinner for the pack. Once we are finished, I'm able to get a small plate for myself. I sat down on the stool at the kitchen island and eat my food. Tomorrow is the big day, the day I will escape this prison I have been in for the last 15 years. Then my birthday will be the following day. Maybe just maybe I'll be able to find my mate....I can only hope. As I'm finishing my dinner, Aden walks into the kitchen with a sweet smile on his face. I swear I could look at that man's face forever. " Good evening Beta, Is there anything I can get for you? I just want to wash up my dishes, then I'll be ready to head back to my cell." I say trying to be polite. His smile falls and I instantly feel guilty and worried i have done something wrong. Moon godless please make this man smile again. Better, yet let me make him smile again. At that moment, Emily walks in giggling, looking right at me. I know she's listening to my thoughts by the way she's looking at me.

"Bree, Beta Aden, I'm glad you are both here. i wanted to talk to you both about something and about the plan for tomorrow."

" I'm all ears." Aden says.

"Okay, so Beta, I'm not sure you know, but i am able to listen to people's thoughts," Emily said. She's looking very suspicious right now.....Oh my gosh she's listening to Beta Aden's thoughts. Wait, why is she nodding her head to him? I wonder what he's thinking about.

"All with time, my girl." Emily smiles at me. She's up to something.

"So I was thinking we should pack a bag tonight and i will stash them in the woods tonight while i go out on patrol," Aden says in a whisper.

"Okay, that is a good idea. It will be less we have to do tomorrow," I responded. And Emily nods in agreement.

"So tomorrow, the Alpha will present you along with the other girls. Bree, you need to play the part until its time to make our escape so it doesn't seem suspicious. After he has presented all of you, he will take each girl individually around to the alphas and introduce you personally." I cant believe Alpha Carter can be so sick. Only one more day and I'll be out of here. I cant wait to see what else is out there in the world.

"Once you are done being introduced to the alphas, I think you should excuse yourself to the restroom and that is when I will meet you out in the hall outside the ballroom.The party should be in full swing so no one will notice. We will then meet up with Emily in the kitchen and sneak out the back door and make our way to the boarders and to Lunar Light."

"That sounds like a great plan, but what about the boarder patrol? It will probably be doubled since there's so many alphas arriving." I was worried that we could be caught and be punished or worse, put to death for betraying the pack.

" I've got that covered. Don't worry." Aden says, passing me a sly grin. And I can't help but feel these strange butterfly feelings in my stomach.

"Alright now, ladies, it's getting late. We need to go get our things packed. It's getting late and we have a busy day tomorrow."

With that, I followed Aden back down to my cell. We stop in front of my cell door. Aden turns to me with sadness in his eyes. I swear i can feel his sadness radiating off of him. Why? I wonder, "I'm so sorry you have to stay here, Bree but I promise this will be your last night here. You deserve so much better."

"Thank you Beta Aden."

" Please just call me Aden. Okay Bree?" He reaches and brushes a strand of hair from my face, then places his hand on my cheek., a soothing warmth spreads across my cheek as he touches me and i cant help but lean into it. What is happening? I've got to be going crazy or something. He looks me in the eyes. His eyes hold so many emotions. Sadness, compassion, and love? his eyes darken to that beautiful black obsidian and sparkle with gold. He jerks his hand back and my cheek is left with a chill and i shiver takes over my body. "I have to hurry and go or the Alpha may suspect something." He pulls a ring full of keys from his pocket and finds my cell key and opens the large cold metal door. I step in and turn to look at him. " Goodnight Aden." He looks at me and i can feel the anger coming off of him in strong, overwhelming waves. He senses my discomfort and calms down. His piercing blue eyes seem as if they can see into my soul. He takes his hand and brushes his long curly blond hair from his face and smiles. "Goodnight Bree, I'll be here first thing in the morning to take you to get ready. Leave your bag by the cell door and I'll sneak back later tonight and take it to hide on my way to patrol the boarders." With that I nod and made my way to my small cot in the corner and lay down as he shuts the door. The sound of the lock clicking locked follows. I lay down and think about tomorrow and all the things to come and i send up a prayer, then sleep takes over.
