4.7 The Romanas were on in ten minutes. Yvette walked with Heather to Ruby’s, entering through a set of double doors into a sports hall. Steel girders supported a high raked ceiling. The walls were cream. Coloured lines painted on the highly polished floor set out a variety of court formations. The air was stale and warm and smelled faintly antiseptic. Yvette and Heather hovered by the sound desk scanning the backs of the large gathering that filled the rows of plastic chairs facing the stage. Seeing a couple vacate two chairs halfway up the aisle, they made a dash before someone else nabbed them. The Romanas had gathered on stage.
