We load Craig’s car with our tuxedos, luggage, the wedding bands, and everything else we’ll need for the wedding, and head to the hotel. Dad drives, and I sit in the passenger’s seat while Craig stretches out in the back with an ice pack on his cheek. Once we get to the hotel, Dad and Craig check into their room, and I check into mine next door. I’m unpacking my toiletries and some other stuff from my suitcase when I hear my father call my name and knock on my room door. I open it for him, and he comes inside. “I need to talk to you.” He seems agitated, and I have a bad feeling he’s come to my room to finally let me have it for hitting Craig. “What’s wrong?” I ask, closing the door behind him. “Is it Craig?” My father shakes his head. “Craig’s fine.
