ELLEN
The wedding of the Young and King families was going to be an elaborate one, my grandfather made sure of that.
“This is the most gorgeous wedding gown I've ever laid eyes on,” Pamela, Nana's daughter, squealed.
“Of course, darling… and it makes this Princess here stand out,” Nana said proudly, and I smiled.
“You two flatter me so much,” I chuckled.
I must say the wedding gown was luxurious, I was speechless when the designer brought it to us.
It was a lavish wedding gown, a masterpiece of ivory silk and intricate lace. The fitted bodice was adorned with delicate Pearls and crystal embellishments, accentuating my silhouette with a touch of timeless sophistication.
The train of the dress was about eight feet long and was decorated with a metallic corded lace that was scalloped along the hem to create a waterfall effect. The deep illusion at the back shows off my fair milky skin and includes a trail of buttons just before the skirt flows into a grand cathedral train with a hem lace finish.
The dress was magnificent, and I found myself grinning at the stunning woman in front of the big wall mirror.
That's me…
Nana placed a tiara on my hair embedded with diamonds, Grandfather had put in so much effort to make sure I had the princess's wedding I'd always wanted.
“I want to cry, you look so stunning,” Pamela said and moved closer to hug me.
“Thank you,” I smiled at her as pulled away from me, she was dressed in a lavender lacy mermaid dress and she looked elegant herself. She was going to be my maid of honor.
I had no close friendships with anyone, I always kept to myself and didn't relate much with people, but Pamela and I had always known each other since kids.
She was my friend and also a sister to me.
After covering my face with the flowy veil which was as long as the train… it was time for me to head to the aisle.
“Okay girls, it's time to go,” Nana notified, and I sucked in a breath before breathing out calmly.
I walked hand in hand with my grandfather as we got into the hall. The melodious sound of the piano rang deeply in my ears as I carried
my steps carefully. The dress was quite a stress as I walked.
The wedding hall exuded opulence and was adorned with cascading crystal chandeliers that cast a warm glow over the ivory silk drapes. Ornate gold accents embellish the cream-colored walls, while plush velvet chairs line the aisle. A fragrant carpet of fresh rose petals led to the grand stage.
It was magical…
I glanced towards my grandfather, and he looked as proud as ever. He had put so much effort into this wedding.
My eyes got teary at the thought of my parents and wished they were alive to witness this moment of their daughter.
The congregation took notice of me as I walked gracefully with my grandfather, and they were all in awe, I would say the dress had played the major role in leaving everyone stunned.
The gown flowed into a waterfall effect that trailed behind me, creating an ethereal aura as I glided down the aisle.
“Wow, she's beautiful!”
“My God! So elegant,”
“The dress is magnificent,”
I heard them muttering among themselves.
I looked up where the backdrop of twinkling fairy light frames was, and my eyes caught Tommy gaping at me with his mouth slightly opened, his look was priceless, and he mouthed a ‘wow’ word to me. I smiled warmly at him, and my eyes traveled to the man standing next to him.
I felt nervous as my palms became sweaty as I stared at the man I was supposed to get married to, standing tall in front of the congregation with wide broad shoulders. He faced the pulpit and didn't even bother to face me when they announced the arrival of the bride.
Why isn't he looking at me? I thought.
We got to the pulpit and my grandfather gently handed me over to Pamela, who had been beaming at me from afar.
I glanced towards the man dressed in a black tuxedo who I guessed to be the groom as his hair covered his face, but he was much more interested in staring at the Priest in front of him than giving me a little attention.
“You may now face the bride,” The priest announced, and I was waiting anxiously to see his face, but from his physique and structure, I knew he would be hot!
He turned to me and I felt like dropping on the floor.
He was drop-dead handsome, just like a Greek god…
His silk black hair, which was shoulder-length racy waves was neatly oiled as it shimmered under the glittering chandeliers, his crescent of moon eyebrows were thin and narrow. He carried an imperious straight nose and his angular cheekbones carved down towards his basalt jaw.
It would be unusual for me to call him a model because he had a manly Samson physique and spartan shoulders that spoke of strength. His aura possessed a latent, leonine power, which shows he carried himself with purpose and authority.
His mariner blue eyes were orbed round and added more to his features which made him give off this icy feeling, well-shaved beard, His lips were pink and appealing to the eyes as I thought about how soft his lips would be on mine.
I think I've fallen for him already, he is more handsome than Tommy.
Gosh! What the hell am I thinking?
I barely know this guy, and I'm drooling foolishly for him.
“Hi,” I muttered nervously maybe I was stupid to say that in the first place, this would be the first time we'd be meeting, but his stare was cold, which sent chills down my spine.
I wished I had asked grandfather for the chance to at least meet with him, so I could know the kind of person he was.
Perhaps he didn't want this marriage. I thought weirdly to myself.
“Now say your vows,” The priest said, interrupting my thoughts.
I stared at him, wanting to hear what he was about to say.
His eyes were cold, each look emanating a zeal of hatred from them, and they were sending dangerous messages to me, making me tear my gaze away from him forcefully, lowering my head nervously.
“I have nothing to say to her,” his baritone voice rang in my ears, and my knuckles turned white.
My face got pale as I raised my head to look at him.
What?
