Tiara didn’t know I was testing her.
I made sure of that.
Every time I spoke to her, every time I asked for her opinion, it was deliberate. She didn’t see it as a test, but I watched her closely. I wanted to know how she thought, how she reacted when given the chance to speak.
She was still uncertain.
When warriors greeted her with respect, she would hesitate, her body tensing slightly, as if bracing for something else—maybe a cruel remark or a reminder of where she came from. But it never came. The warriors treated her well, and with time, she stopped flinching when they addressed her.
