Two more months pass as our child continued to grow in Aria’s womb, she grew more beautiful by the day, the days passing by relatively uneventful. The day draws near to her father’s return, as I’ve learned it’s not from an overseas trip but a trip back to the realm of the Gods, and our apprehension grows. It’s the day before his return and Aria’s water breaks, our gestation is roughly 6 months and she’s about 5.5 months along so it’s early and unplanned. Xavier readies the bath and calls for the healers altering them “It’s time!” he shouts, as a contraction rolls through Aria’s body. “There’s no time, she’s coming!” She shouts between pants. Shocked I run her side as I find our child crowning. A large swath of dark brown hair appears, as Aria gives one last push I guide our child out and she was right, our baby is a girl! “It’s a girl” I tell Aria, “I know” she replied, “she is special, she must stay hidden. I’ve had a vision she must be kept from my father, dark times are coming, and if she is lost in this war our world will be lost forever.” Confused at her statement I just nod in wonderment at this amazing creation in my hands. “Amara” she says, “It’s perfect, Amara” I repeat.
That evening Aria and I met with the Queen of the Light Fae, Serena, typically they stay out of realm drama only getting involved to keep the balance. If the scales of light or dark tip too far the world goes into chaos which is the main goal of the Chaos Fae. They are always at odds, most people believe the Dark Fae are responsible for all the bad luck that befalls the world, when in fact the Dark Fae are as loving as the light and crave the balance of their other half, they value the opposite of the light. There is no inherit good or bad fae, however some sides seem to have more in one direction than the other. The Chaos Fae love to toe the line between the inter-realm laws, constantly pushing their luck, sometimes overstepping and revealing our presence to the wrong human, or causing mass destruction by whispering information to the right people. Either way Aria’s vision was enough to intrigue the Queen of the Light Fae she agreed to a meeting. A plan was developed to keep Amara safe, with myself and Aria to join shortly after. Only the three of us knew the plan, and we would take this secret to our graves.
The next day came and we anxiously awaited the arrival of Aria’s father, Zeus, dam, I’m still wrapping my head around that fact ‘Me too’ Lukeen replies, ‘This is going to be interesting, I haven’t had this much excitement in centuries’ I roll my eyes at him and shake my head, how true his statement he would soon find out. Minutes ticked by slowly as the sun passed overhead, a gentle breeze blowing in off the west, bringing the scents of wildflowers in the fields of the hills, the air takes on a slight buzz as all the hairs on my body stand on end. “He’s here” Aria states. The buzzing turns electrifying to the borderline of painful. Lukeen is pacing in my head, he hates feeling caged and this buzzing was preventing me from moving. “Enough father, let him go!” Ever so slightly the intensity drops but enough so that I can now look around. I look behind up to find an giant of a man, sorry God, over 7 feet tall with muscle to match. Light radiated from his skin almost blinding my sensitive eyes. “Father, this is Xavier, he has asked me to marry him and I would like to accept.” Her father’s eyes drill into me, I feel it when he enters my mind, I know how to keep out most intruders being Alpha of my pack I’ve had better training than most, but he cut through my barriers like they never existed. Pain shoots through my head at the foreign intrusion. “INSOLENCE!” he roared. “YOU WILL PAY FOR DESECRATING MY DAUGHTER. YOU WILL PAY WITH YOUR LIFE, YOU AND YOUR PUP!” My heart drops “s**t this is not how I thought this would go” Blinded by anger and rage, the Chaos Fae were drawn like a moth to a flame. They whispered in the God’s ear that the shifters were to blame for the loss of balance in this world because they take without asking. Zeus’ anger grew as the Chaos Fae feed off his energy. Realizing that her father was about to loose control Aria grabbed my hand and mind linked “Don’t let go, as long as you hold onto me he cannot us his electricity on you, of his blood I am immune and I can keep you immune, but only if we’re touching”. I nod my understanding and we take off; Zeus is so preoccupied with whisperings of the Chaos Fae that he doesn’t notice that Xavier and Aria are gone before it’s too late. Frustrated he strikes the house with a bolt of lightning, the house that had been their home, complete with a new nursery for their child, gone in a matter of seconds. When no one came out of the house, Zeus set the forest on fire hoping to flush them out, they can’t hide if there’s no where to hide. Little did Zeus know that he could burn the entire forest and never find them, Queen Serena had given them an amulet that would transport them to their new home, where baby Amara was being held safely away from harm.
