So Cute of Him

1525 Words
Isabella looked utterly shocked by what Nathan had just said. "How is that possible? Do you know how good you are at … bed?" She finished the sentence with a slight shyness and hesitance. Nathan chuckled softly. Isabella: "Emmm…" Just forget it!!! Please!!! Why did she mention how good Nathan was in bed? Isabella decided not to struggle anymore. Let the little angelic, handsome Nathan think of her as a lunatic. There was no way she could keep her composure around him. She might as well resign herself to being a complete lovestruck fool!!! After all, Nathan didn't mind her being like that…Maybe "Perhaps… it's my talent," Nathan said. Before entering the kitchen, he was a genius at everything he did, and that intimate area was no exception. He was, for sure, self-taught. In fact, he was just responding to Isabella's reactions. If she seemed comfortable, then he would continue refining his technique. If she seemed uncomfortable, he would avoid doing so in the future. Nathan had worried he might not have done well, fearing she had suffered during their intimacy moment, especially since she looked so aggrieved when she fell asleep last night. To his surprise, her feedback was…it was so good that she did not believe it was his first… His effort was rewarded, indeed, with such praise from Mrs. Carter. It was worth it. All worth it. "Talent…talent for what?" Isabella wondered if she hadn't read enough romance novels. Wasn't that kind of skill that required multiple "practices"? Could it be talent, born natural? But he looked like he was not lying… "Of course. But I also worked hard for us … to be satisfied…" Nathan's face was gentle. "If Isabella likes it, I will be thrilled and rewarded. I'll keep trying and working harder in the future!" "Work harder?!" Isabella couldn't imagine it. She waved frantically, "No more… we shouldn't do this anymore…" "Does Isabella like me?" Nathan frowned slightly, looking like a hurt puppy. As brilliant as Nathan was, he had figured out Isabella's weakness long ago. She really fell for this kind of hurt puppy act. "Yes, of course, I like you. It's just our relationship…we are not in that kind of relationship, so we probably shouldn't be so intimate…" Isabella didn't expect that the night before last was also Nathan's first. She didn't know whether to be relieved or upset. "I really like you, Isabella," Nathan quickly said seriously before Isabella could respond. "I'm not casual about intimacy. The reason I agreed to marry you is that I genuinely like you. So… Isabella, can you try to like me back?" Damn it! Isabella's rationality finally crashed after his speech about wanting her to like him back. "I can try!" "Isabella, you are the best." Nathan pulled Isabella into his arms, his mouth curving into a wide smile. He had controlled his feelings for her before their accidental one-night stand and marriage afterward. Now that he had her, he realized how wonderful it felt. The feeling surpassed every good thing on earth. He would never let her go anymore. Not for any reasons may exist. As for reasons that could take her away from him… A cold, sharp stare flashed in Nathan's eyes. He would find ways to eliminate them all at any cost and ensure Isabella would never find out. Isabella needed to figure out what to do with the current situation. With Nathan being like this, if she rejected his affection, she would feel like she had become a heartless scumbag abandoning the cutest person on earth. "So, Isabella, can I sleep with you again tonight…? I'm scared of being alone…" Nathan's fingers twirled her soft hair out of Isabella's sight, and his face was full of fake shyness. His voice sounded pitiful and aggrieved. If his men in black bodyguards were here and heard Nathan claim he would be scared of being alone, they would probably die of shock right then and there. Despite her desires, Isabella wasn't entirely out of restraint. "No way!" Nathan paused his hair-twirling before continuing, "Alright, I'll sleep in the living room then." Followed by another pitiful puppy look. Isabella found no way to respond to this look. Did he always look so pitiful…? Feeling a pang of guilt, Isabella suggested, "How about this? We'll both sleep in the living room. We can move the coffee table and put out the mattress. You can sleep on the sofa, and I'll sleep on the mattress?" "Isabella, you're the best!" Nathan's voice lit up with happiness as he hugged her tightly. Isabella felt happy, too. She had no idea that while Nathan hugged her with a bright smile, he looked far more mischievous and mature than his innocent facade. But of course, Isabella would have plenty of time to unlock all of Nathan's mischievous moments slowly, one by one. Isabella had paid three years' rent upfront for her apartment, with only one year left now. Though it wasn't a small amount, she didn't want to waste it. However, now she had two people living here, and the space felt a bit cramped for both of them, especially with Nathan at least 6 feet tall. When she picked out the furniture, it was based on her and Andrew's needs. Andrew… Isabella hadn't even looked at him properly yesterday. The book mentioned his official height being under 6 feet. There was quite a height difference between him and Nathan, making the old furniture short for Nathan. The sofa, for instance, was too short for Nathan to sleep comfortably, forcing him to curl up a little bit. "Nathan, I have something to do today. If you have the time, why don't you visit the furniture store? The sofa is too small for you, and you won't sleep comfortably. How about buying a bigger one for yourself?" "Okay!" Nathan remained obedient and innocent. Seeing his handsome yet adorable face, Isabella couldn't help but smile. Nathan was such an adorable man, she thought. After Nathan's attempts, the kitchen was in such a terrible state that Isabella had no choice but to call a cleaner. Isabella had an appointment around noon, so she couldn't wait for the cleaner to arrive. Before leaving, she repeatedly reminded Nathan, "Nathan, the kitchen is too dirty. Promise me you won't go there." "I promise," Nathan nodded his head. "You have to keep your word!" Isabella was genuinely worried. After all, he looked reluctant to leave when she dragged Nathan out of the kitchen. "Pinkie swears," Nathan suggested, remembering how much Isabella liked pinkie swears as a child. Pinkie swore was something she had taught him. And in this lifetime, he would only do such childish things for her. Isabella felt moved again. So cute! So adorable! She wanted to … Isabella shook her head firmly and quickly dismissed those inappropriate thoughts. "Pinkie swear!" She cooperated, extending her pinkie to hook around Nathan's. "A pinkie swear is binding. I'll be furious if I find out you go into the kitchen again." Isabella put on a fake, angry face. "I promise!" Nathan nodded again earnestly. He couldn't help but feel a bit troubled. His performance in the kitchen had left Isabella very, very unsatisfied and worried… "I'm heading out now. If you hear someone knocking, ensure it's the cleaner before opening the door. Don't let strangers in." By now, Isabella was convinced Nathan was an innocent, handsome man who could be easily tricked, maybe even with a lollipop. No, maybe not even a lollipop. Yesterday, she had promised him that she would treat him well in the future in their marriage. She didn't even buy him a lollipop, and he had been coaxed into getting a marriage certificate with her… Considering today was their first day living together as newly married, she thought she ought to buy something nice for him. Suppose anyone else had treated Nathan like an i***t. In that case, they might have already ended up as a floating dead body in the open sea by now. But at this moment, Nathan was not only accepting being treated like an innocent man, but also enjoying it since it all came from his wife. His Isabella had him in her heart; she worried about him, and he liked it. Isabella was concerned about what Andrew might do after hearing her getting married to Nathan. As the original male lead of the story, Andrew wouldn't disappear so easily. He knew her address, and what if he came looking for trouble while she wasn't around? How would Nathan, who was so timid and scared to sleep alone, handle being bullied by that bastard Andrew? With worries building up, Isabella despised Andrew even more. She should have kicked him twice yesterday! "I know," Nathan replied, making Isabella feel more at ease. She slowly changed her shoes in the hallway, grabbed her purse, and prepared to leave. As she opened the front door, a cold hand grabbed hers. Nathan pulled her back into his arms, cupped her face in his hands, kissed her deeply, then stepped back with a warm smile and said, "I'll wait for you."
