You are my alpha

The feeling of being in his arms again while gazing at his calm sleepy face left Bella smiling like a fool, unable to stop herself as her heart pumped with excitement. Finally, Neron was okay with creating a family with her. There was nothing more exciting than that to her, and she was glad that this was where they are now. "Good morning," Neron whispered with his eyelids closed. A look of confusion crossed Bella's face as she stared at his shut eyes, wondering how he knew she was awake. When Neron finally raised his eyelids, a half-smile settled on his face as he stared intensely at her, and then mumbled, "Why is your heart pounding so fast?" Lowering her gaze, she hesitated for a moment before whispering, "Because I'm happy… really happy." Although the was so much he had to worry about, the kids being Damon's and not his, or they turning out to be more wolves than dragons, Nero realize that for the first time since Bella told him that she was pregnant, he was optimistic about them being together, and every other feeling became second to that. When she lifted her head to gaze at him, nervous about his silence, Neron leaned closer to her lips, and as he was about to kiss her, the door suddenly opened. "Oh mine, sorry master! I thought…" Nora cried, gazing at the both of them with her eyes brimming with happiness. "I will knock next time! You guys can carry on. I will leave now!" After she left, Neron looked back at Bella and said, "Staying in this house all day must suck. Want to come to work with me today since your school is closed," "What?" Bella mumbled, feeling nervous that she didn't tell him that she flunked all her classes. But in her defense, how could she not fail when she was caught between Damon and Neron the entire semester. Yet, the thought of telling him that she wasted his money made her uneasy. "I can not keep you safe in these walls. I learned that the hard way after everything that happened. So it's now time to set you free, by my side, of course." Neron said, brushing his fingers against her cheek. The past events made him realize that he couldn't keep her in the dark anymore because she had seen it all, and it was okay for him to make it known to his people officially that she was his, even though he knew that they would hate the thought of a human queen. "I failed… really badly. My grades are terrible and my GPA is the worst!" Bella blurted out, feeling a sense of relief and fear. "I know. I'm friends with the president of the University, Bella." Neron said with a faint chuckle. "You are not mad?" "Mad about what? In between you living with Damon, almost dying because of the both of us, and getting pregnant, I don't think you had the chance to study or focus on school." "But…" "You can give it another try next semester. But in the meantime, you can come work for me." The thought of working for such a prime company, and having such a terrible GPA during her first semester of college made Bella even more anxious. But she didn't want to hurt Neron's feelings by turning his offer down again. "Okay. But don't make me start from an important position. I am fine as an intern." Bella said with certainty in her tone. Slightly shaking his head, Neron furrowed his brows as he said, "That's not happening." "Please, Neron! It will feel awkward if you give me any position other than that." For a moment, he didn't reply, gazing at the pleading look in her eyes and her push-up lips. Then he scratched his brow and mumbled, "Fine." "Thank You!" Bella let out. Excited, she rushed from under the sheet, twitching her toes as the cold from the tiles ran through her feet. Then she rushed into the bathroom, stopping in front of the basin. "What are you doing?" Neron's voice echoed into the bathroom, and Bella could hear his footsteps getting closer. "Getting ready for my first day at work," She mumbled, wrapping her hair into a ponytail with a bow. Stopping at the doorway, Neron smirked as he watched her happily brush her teeth. It had been a while since he had felt this excitement from her, and a sense of calmness overcame him as he giggled, approaching her from the back. Sighing softly, he rested his chin on Blake's shoulder, and she smiled brightly as she gazed at his reflection in the mirror. But Neron's eyes were focused on her stomach, and for a moment he hesitated, wondering if it was okay to do it. Then he raised his hand and carefully rested his palm on her stomach, raising his gaze to meet the reflection of her moist eyes. Both of them didn't speak as Bella laid her palm on the back of his hand, widening her smile, feeling certain that this was it… the moment she and Neron can finally be happy together. Looking back when the door opened, Damon frowned at his beta, standing at his suite door, and then focused back on his mirror. "Are you going somewhere?" Atlas asked, walking further into the room. Without replying, Damon grabbed his coat off the couch and wore it, studying his look for a moment before facing his beta. "Neron has a few questions to answer," Damon said, his tone numb with rage glowing in his eyes. For a moment, Atlas held back his tongue, gazing intensely at his alpha until Damon got sick of his stare and said, "Speak!" "I don't think we should be showing up in front of Neron's face. I mean, after the chaos he carried out the other day, we don't know the state of his mental health." Atlas mumbled, not meeting Damon's eyes as he spoke. "Do I look like I give a damn about if he's crazy or sane?! All I want is to know if Bella and my kids are alright! It has been a while, and my patients have run out!" "Right…" After a couple of quiet seconds, Atlas lifted his gaze off the tiles and said, "You know that there are other pressing issues rising in our territory after Neron attacked us the other day." "Yes!" Damon mumbled, a look of anxiety sparked in his eyes before switching with a hint of raw rage. "Who do you think it is?" "I don't know, Atlas. After the entire Bella's situation, the rest of the pack members have become rogues and none of them answer to me anymore, except you." "Well, you are my alpha. My loyalty is with you." "If Hunter didn't betray me, I would have believed those words wholeheartedly, but now my trust is not something easy to gain." "I know." For a couple of seconds, neither of them spoke. Then Damon slightly cleared his throat and said, "Well, I should be on my way." "Am I not coming with you?" Atlas asked, sounding disappointed. "What part of I don't trust you, didn't you understand!" "But what if Neron believes that you are behind what is happening and tries to kill you. You can't face him alone! You need backup." "If Neron knew about what was going on among us werewolves, I think he would be the one looking for me and not the other way around." It got quiet as Atlas furrowed his brows, replaying his alpha words in his head a couple of times before mumbling, "True." "If you want to prove me wrong about not trusting you find the bastard that infiltrated my territory and created such a messy situation before things escalate!" Damon said, looking him dead in the eyes. Then he walked past Atlas and left the room, slamming the door shut behind him.
