I had to spend the day in the yard today, but I was grateful for it as my excitement of Paige coming to stay was taking up my every thought. The work was a welcome distraction and made the day go by quicker. I got home by 6pm and still hadn't heard from her since last night. I don't want to come across as too pushy so I wait patiently, hoping she will arrive soon. It was 8pm when I had just gotten out of the shower and noticed a text from Paige.
"Hey, can you come and get me?x"
My heart immediately thumps against my chest as I think she might be in trouble. I quickly dial her number, my nerves increasing with every ring.
"Hello?" She says, though it sounds like a question.
