Chapter 3

Alpha Karen walked into the room and shut the door behind him, he watched his Gamma engrossed in his thoughts and stood there watching for some minutes, he sighed when he couldn’t take it anymore.

“What’s your problem, did your wife ran off with someone again?”

He was suddenly met with the glare of the Gamma, that was the topic anyone was forbidden to talk about, but not him, he is the alpha.

“Whatever is bothering you...don’t let it disturb your work, prepare a Limo, we are going to the neighboring town.”

Alpha Karen shrugged his shoulders as he sat on a couch besides him, picking up a newspaper and investing his mind into it; Math walked up to him and threw the newspaper outside.

“There’s no way you don’t know what happened here, yet you are still so carefree, my Lord you are getting me worried.”

Alpha Karen face changed drastically, he let out a silent but angry growl as his eyes turned red.

“How dare you!” Math was forced on his knees by the impact of the authority on his voice, he always uses his alpha voice on him when he is very angry and he knew he had crossed his limits, he bowed his head in submissiveness, even though he was his friend, he wasn’t allowed to take out his anger on him, after all he was the Alpha.

“Am sorry, my lord, but I was really worried...”

“Worried about what…that you wouldn’t be able to be a Beta in this life?” Matt looked up to him in shock, his eyes widened, he opened his mouth to speak but no words came out.

“My lord!” He had served him wholeheartedly and was genuinely worried about him but all he got was this blatant accusation, in any case, he had to serve him so he had nothing else to say, he simply kept his head bowed.

“Prepare a limbo, we are heading to the Moon crest pack.”

“Yes my lord.” Math immediately stood up and left the room, Alpha Karen let out a loud sigh before he sat heavily on the couch, he pressed the bell on the side of the bed, few moments later, a maid walked in, shock and fear was written all over her face when she met him face to face.

“Bring me the rogue.”

“Yes my lord."

She quickly stepped out and hurried to the dungeon. Meanwhile, while Ava stepped out of the room, she was grabbed by a man on hoodie, his entire face was covered by a black mask leaving only his eyes visible, even though he was on all black, he still stood out, reason being that, this wasn’t the kind of clothes that this pack was used to, this alone affirmed Ava belief that he was not from this town or even the neighboring town.

As they continued running down the hallways, Ava’s heartbeats increased, she grew more and more anxious, in as much as she wanted to resist by pushing the man, she still followed, anxiety and palpitation covered her entirely, soon they came to an abrupt halt, and the mysterious man turned to her and slowly removed his hoodie, Ava gasped.

“James!”

“shhhhhh.”

James placed his fingers on her lips and looked around the garden, he released her when he didn’t find anyone coming.

“What are you doing here…what on earth brought you here…are you stupid?”

Ava was unable to hold back anymore and burst into tears, her beautiful round eyes now filled with tears.

“Eva, get a hold of yourself, this is not the time to be emotional, we are in serious mess and you have to be strong...”

“What do you mean?” Eva looked in the eyes of her twin brother who had protected and loved her since young, she felt something different about him, she felt a different light on his eyes, but she couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong.

“Eva…listen very carefully to this thing am about to say.”

Eva broke out in sobs, her hands trembled as she reached for his face, but he grabbed her hands and rubbed it.

“Eva Smith!” His voice was without emotion and his face was expressionless, this greatly shocked Eva, James had never given her this look, or neither has he ever raised her voice at her, anything he’s about to say must be grave.

“You need to be strong and this thing am about to tell you, you have to do it well, this concerns the future of us and our pack.”

“Our Pack?” Eva eyes was filled with confusion, Crescent Moon pack is the pack she grew up, even though her parents changed their minds and decided to leave the pack but this...

“Listen to me Eva, we’ve got no time, and you are the destined mate of Alpha Ethan and you...”

“What…what do...?” James immediately covered her mouth and shoved her behind a tree while he bent down, soon a maid rushed past them, after looking out and making sure everywhere was clear, James gently pulled her out.

“Stop interrupting me and listen carefully, you probably know am in the run, the three brothers are desperately looking for me… that’s because of the prophesy...”

“What does the prophesy say?”

“Am not diving into details Eva, the thing is that, you are the destined mate of Alpha Ethan and you have a mission…” “What mission?”

“You have to kill him.”

“What!” Eva eyes widened, her brother must have hit his head, is he nuts, kill the mighty Alpha, has he finally lost it.

“listen Eva, he will be your mate and can’t resist the mate bond, make him fall in love with you and when he trusts you completely, look for a chance and kill him.”

“It should be precisely on the eve of the blood moon day, the day the werewolves are at their weakest.”

“I can’t do it.” Eva said while shaking her head violently, not only was it not possible for Alpha Ethan to fall in love with her, he was also too strong for her to kill, what about her conscious, she shook her head frantically.

Hurried footsteps resonated throughout the garden and James eyes widened, he shook his head pleadingly at her, telling her the urgency of the situation with his eyes, when the sounds of the footsteps got closer, James kissed her softly on her forehead and after one last glance at her, he walked rushed out of the garden.

Not long after, Alpha Karen showed up with his Gamma behind him and several other men, while some werewolves lurked the place, sniffing around, obviously searching for the scent of her brother.

“Where is he?” Eva shivered at the sound of his voice, his eyeballs were split red, his brows furrowed and his lips pursed, this is the angriest he had seen him.

“W…who…what are…what are you...” She was unable to finish her sentence, when she was suddenly lifted off the grounds and thrown against a tree, she instantly felt a sharp pain zip through her body, she coughed out blood and remained motionless on the ground, unable to lift her body, tears and blood mixed streamed down her face as she felt numb from the intense pain.

“Where is he…?” In a flash, Alpha Karen was before her, and that was the last thing she saw before drifting out of consciousness.

Eva opened her eyes to the bright light in the room and felt blinded, when she opened her eyes again after fully adjusting to the lights, she gasped in shock, on the chair not too far away from her, Alpha Ethan sat majestically with a majestic aura and overflowing elegance oozing from his being, staring straight at her.
