Daneen’s Point Of View
Aminat walks out of her and Abdullah jiju's room with a exhausted look on her face.
"Aminat." Mama gets up instantly. "Beta, are you okay? What's wrong? Why did you lock yourself in your room all night?" She bombards sis with a lot of questions.
She looks so panicked right now, but sis still stays silent.
"Aminat, what's wrong?" Zara bhabhi asks.
"I'm fine," sis whispers. Her voice is broken and really hoarse I think she cried overnight.
"Sis." I walk up to her, getting fed up of her silence. "If you don't wanna talk to Abdullah jiju or anyone else, then talk to me," I tell her.
I hold her hand and smile. I wipe her tears away. "I need to talk to Abdullah," she whispers. I look at jiju, who looks at her in shock.
He stands up and walks up to their room.
A tear slides down her cheeks, which she wipes away.
I wonder what's wrong.
Aminat’s Point Of View
"Aminat, what's with all these drama? Why did you lock yourself in our room the entire day? You got everyone scared," Abdullah yells as he paces around the room in frustration.
"I know your having an affair with Aliyah," I whisper. He immediately stops walking and looks at me with widened eyes.
"I just want to tell you if you want to marry her do that, but don't have affairs behind my back. I'm still your wife whether you want me to be or not. I'm still your wife..."
"You betrayed by sleeping with that shameless woman," I yell angrily. He doesn't say anything, but just stares at me.
"My little sister got married to your brother and I'm happy for her, despite not getting along before they pushed that aside. Now look at them, a happy couple and it's only four days since their marriage."
"We've been married since six months and there's nothing between us, love, hate? I don't even know anymore! Sometimes you are the perfect husband and I find myself falling deeply for you. On other days, you ignore me, you don't touch me and barely speak to me."
"Six months and I'm still in love with you... more than ever," I yell, then turn away from him.
"If you didn't want me, why did you agree to this marriage? There's no love, you are out having affairs and I'm here waiting for you to come back every night."
"I'm crying for your love, for you to look at me the way you look at her. Do something, I'm breaking slowly and you don't even realize or care. If you have no respect for this marriage, at least think about my own feelings in this."
I gulp, wiping my tears angrily. "I'd rather prefer you divorcing me, than know you slept with someone else," I scream, throwing my phone onto the bed.
Sobs escape my lips, I slide down to the floor as my cries increase.
The door of our room opens and Daneen is standing there, looking livid. Oh my Allah. This girl can never control her anger.
"Daneen, let them solve it themselves," Sahil says, trying to pull her away.
"Sahil, if you don't let me go, I'm divorcing you right this minute," she yells.
"Daneen!" mama yells.
"You are such an ungrateful man. You know didi (sister) trusted you so much. She does everything for you. She loved you so much. How could you do that to her after everything she's done for you?" she screams, while glaring at Abdullah.
"Daneen!" I yell.
"And you, didi." She turns to me. I look at her, taken aback.
"What happened to you? You got married and you deserted your life completely. You were a strong, independent woman, didi. I looked up to you so much, but ever since you got married you've become so weak emotionally and physically and he's not even treating you right. He's nothing but a shameless man," she yells.
"Daneen!" mama yells, then slaps her. I gasp loudly and cover my mouth in shock.
"This is between a husband and a wife, stay in your place," mama shouts angrily.
Daneen looks at her with her chest heaving up and down. "And she's my sister who's married to your no good son. I'll say what I have to say whether you like it or not," Daneen says sternly, word for word.
"Don't talk to her like that! What's wrong with you?" Sahil asks.
"Didi, come on." Daneen grabs my hand and drags me out of the room.
"Daneen!" mama yells. "If you take one more step, consider yourself not a part of this family," she yells, her eyes wide.
"Then you can count me out right now," Daneen yells. I gasp, then hold her back.
"Daneen, you can't do this! You are just newly wedded, think about mama and baba, they'll be so shattered." I make her look at me.
"Mama and baba don't care what our messed up society thinks of them as long as their daughters are safe, didi. You seem to forget that a lot. You are always way too nice to people, which is why they take you for granted," she says, then glances at Abdullah, who's still standing in the room emotionlessly.
"There are many things that we let go, Daneen. We have to sac--"
"He slept with another woman, didi. How can you still be taking his si--" she stops and stumbles backwards.
"Daneen?"
She falls backwards.
"Daneen!" I scream.
