Gender Reveal

For the past few weeks Asia and Alexis have been on my side and helping me get over Dave, I've been feeling better and my scars are healing up. Today was the day of Alexis' gender reveal party and Asia and we were doing the last finishing touches.

"You got the candy bags?" She asked looking over the list.

"Yeah they're on the table." I said. "Did you pick up the cake?"

She ran over to the fridge, "Yeah I'll get it out the fridge. Set the flowers on the table then after that we should be done."

We both did as told and made sure it looked nice, I smiled lightly and looked at her. "We make a great team."

"I agree." She laughed, "Oh! Where's the balloon?"

"In my room, and I got the two needles to so they can both pop it at the same time and the confetti will fly out."

"Okay good." She looked at the table one more, "I think were done here. Now, let's go get cute!"

Two hours later the gender reveal party started, there was tons of people here including my parents who took time out of their busy schedule to come tonight. "This is beautiful." My mom smiled, "Congratulations Alexis! I can't wait to hold my beautiful little niece or nephew."

"Thank you aunt Niecy, I'm so excited!" She squealed. "When are we gonna pop the balloon?" She whined.

"In a second." I laughed, "We have to wait on Quincy." I grabbed my phone and started recording on my i********: story showing off the decorations and Alexis' big belly. I posted it then looked around. "Is he here yet?"

"I don't know." She sighed, "He said he was going to be running late but not this late."

I walked towards the door and seen him rushing in along with Jarron and Christian behind him. "Hey sorry I'm late." He said almost out of breath. "It was so much traffic especially since we just flew in."

"It's okay, she didn't pop the balloon yet." I told him. "She's over there though." He walked towards her as I looked at Jarron and waved.

He scoffed, "What was that? Girl give me a hug!" He hugged me tight and I hugged him back. "You look good." He complimented.

"So do you." I looked at Christian. "Hey, Asia was just asking about you."

"Oh really? Where she at?"

"I don't know she's around here somewhere." I said looking around.

"Aye man we kinda hungry and I know y'all got some food." He said.

"Yeah." I laughed. "The food is right over there on the table, just make yourself at home."

I walked around, talking to people and taking photos then I ran across Asia who was talking to Natalie on the steps. "Hey Natalie." I said, barely wanting to acknowledge her.

"Hey Morgan." She gave me a hug, "You look nice."

"Thank you. You hungry?"

She shook her head no. "It's okay, I just ate."

"Well speaking of food." I said looking at Asia. "Christian is right over there." I smiled.

"Really?" She blushed lightly, "Come with me I'm scared!"

"Of what!" I laughed.

"I don't know just come on!"

We walked over to Jarron and Christian who was on the couch eating and laughing.

"Okay first of all that's not how you sit on a couch especially if you didn't pay for it." I started, "And second what's so funny?"

Jarron sat on the couch right, "My bad. And this nigga just made a funny joke." He laughed. "Come sit with us."

"H-H-Hey Christian." Asia stuttered.

"Wassup beautiful. Come here." He stood up and hugged her, then sat back down. "Long time no see."

"Yeah I know, it's better seeing you here than staring at you on FaceTime." She laughed.

He laughed back, "Yeah it is."

Jarron looked at me and patted the seat next to him, I playfully rolled my eyes and sat next to him and he put his arm around me. "What you been up to?"

"Nothing really. Been focusing on this party since forever. I'm glad it turned out right."

"Yeah y'all did a good job." He licked his lips and looked me up and down, "We found a place."

"Really?" I asked. "That's good. Where is it."

"About twenty minutes from here. We move in next month." He said. "New York expensive as hell." He laughed, "But me and my boys got it covered."

"Yeah it is expensive." I agreed. "Can't argue with that."

Alexis came up to us, "Come on I'm getting impatient." She said, "Quincy's here now so let's do it."

"Okay here we come." I said about to stand up but Jarron pulled me back down gently. I looked at him, "What?"

"Can I take you somewhere tonight?" He asked. "Better yet you take me somewhere, this yo city. I just wanna get to know you a little more."

"I don't know." I said standing up, "I'll think about it."

He stood up to, "You gone stop dissing me Morgan." He laughed. "It's okay though, I'll know you'll come around."

"5.....4.....3.....2.....1!"

Quincy and Alexis popped the ballon and there was pink confetti flying everywhere. Everyone screamed and shouted in joy, Quincy was smiling but you could tell he really wanted a boy along with Christian and Jarron. "Damn man! We got a niece!" Christian said.

"It's cool we still gone play football with her." Jarron told him.

"No y'all not." I said adding my two cents. "Not my little cousin, y'all gone be taking her to get a mani and pedi not no damn football games." I laughed, "She's going to be a boujie barbie just like the rest of the girls in her family."

"I agree. Y'all are boujie barbie."

I turned around and my face expression literally went upside down, "Dave what are you doing here?" I asked.

"Come here let me talk to you outside." He said.

"No you need to leave right now."

"Why?" He asked. "Just come here it'll take five minutes." He said. I hesitated, then quickly walked outside with him. He turned towards me, "I really wanna knock you the f**k out." He started. "But I can't even get mad since we ain't been talking."

"Knock me out about what Dave what did I do?!"

"That nigga in there." He said. " I know y'all f*****g around."

"No we aren't, we're just friends."

"You know how I feel about that friend s**t and you know how I feel about that nigga. You must really wanna get him killed huh?" He said holding his grip to his pistol that was on the side of his hip.

"Dave you're the one who told me not to come back! We're done! You said it yourself!" I yelled.

"We ain't done and you know we ain't done." He grabbed my face and bring it closer to his, "If I find out you with that nigga one more time I swear to god I will blow his f*****g brains out in front of you." He let me go forcefully causing my neck to go backwards a little. "Now go tell him to leave."

I held my neck and fought back tears, "His friend is Alexis' baby father he isn't here for me. I can't make him leave."

"This is your damn house so yes you can." He said. "Make him leave Morgan." I stayed silent then he grabbed me by my neck. "Make him leave Morgan!" He said louder.

"Okay! Okay! Just let me go!" I cried, he let me go and I quickly wiped my tears. "I'll tell him, just please go away. I don't want Alexis or Asia to see you and get mad at me or call the police."

"Imma stand right here until I see that nigga leave, then imma leave." He said in a serious tone.

I slowly walked back into the house and towards Jarron. "Jarron, c-c-can you leave?" I asked. "You can't be here."

"Why not? What's the problem?"

"T-T-This is my house and I want you to leave." I said not looking at him. "Please." I whispered.

"Wait Morgan, did he tell you to make me leave?" He asked. He came closer to me, "Why do you look scared? And your neck looks bruised Morgan what's going on what did-"

"Leave!" I shouted. "Just go!"

He had a shocked look on his face, "Alright. I'll go." He said. "Just tell the guys I wasn't feeling well and that I went to the hotel. Just be safe Morgan."

I nodded and walked him to the door, he walked out and Dave stood on the porch with a slight, evil grin on his face. As Jarron walked passed Dave bumped into him and kept his eyes looking at me. "Good job." He said. "I'll see you another time." He added before getting into his truck to and leaving.
