Mary

Mary, short for Maria. That is her name. Very simple. Very ordinary. She was five when she became an orphan. Her mother and father passed away and she did not have any memory of them. She lived on the streets and joined prostitution at the age of eight. 

Maria still remembered how she ended leading her life on that lifetime hell. She was ill and she does not know where to go. She was sleeping near the club before. She saw a girl from a taxi and was handed a big amount of money.

In her mind, it was what she needed to survive. She can't live her life on the streets begging and pleading. She wanted to know more. She waited three days and watched what that woman do every day. 

She was there, she witnessed how many men that woman went out with. The time the woman spent with them. And how much she earned every time.

It was a risk to ask her. It was on her mind that she needed the confidence to overcome. It was exactly 8 pm and the woman just came out of the taxi.

''Miss'', she exclaimed. The woman looked at Maria with disgust. She looks irritated. She felt that the woman did not like her even once.

"Yeah?'' the woman answered while chewing a piece of nicotine gum.

"Umm, I just want to-know",  Maria wanted to look down while asking this question.

" What?" "Come on girl, you are wasting my time", the woman rolled her eyes while still chewing.

" I can pay your hour mam, I just wanted to ask you something" , Maria confidently spoke about her thoughts now.

" And when on earth did a beggar had any money?''

" I have mam, just please listen" Maria was pleading once again.

" Okay, what is it?'' , the woman hesitantly asked.

" I want to become like you" " Will you help me?''

The woman was out of words when she heard it from Maria. It was a very shocking idea from a very young beggar like her.

" Are you serious?" " Begging is better than my work" 

" But mam, I don't want to grow up and become a beggar in my whole life"

The woman felt sad for Maria. She suddenly changed her mind and try to ask her again some few questions.

"Where are your parents?"  

" They are dead"

"Okay, I will agree and help you in one condition".

"What is it, mam?''

"Let's get you bath first, you stink"

 They went to that woman's apartment and Maria bath for the first time. Her apartment is a completely opposite personality compare to her job. It was very neat and tidy. Was very organize. Everything is set accordingly. The furniture is also classy. 

"What's your name little kiddo?'' 

"Maria"

"Like Jesus's mom?''

"Yeah the virgin mary"

" How about you mam?'' 

" I am Hilda"

" Your name sounds like a villain, I am scared!''

" Haha, no Maria don't be. I am nice"

Hilda offered Maria some food to eat. She was very nice. She was the very first person that treated her like this.

" Hilda, what do you do with the money you get from those guys?''

"Oh, I often shop and give half of my money to the bank"

"Tell me, Maria, do you really want to do this job?''

" I want to Hilda, please help me" 

She promised this time that it would be the last time that she will beg again. She will have a good apartment and she will become like Hilda. 

" I will help you Maria don't worry''

"Really? Why"

" I see myself on you, way back"

" I was also an orphan and I was ten when I joined prostitution"

" But the difference Maria is that I never liked this, I was forced to do it by my cruel aunt''

Hilda smiled bitterly while looking outside the window.

Maybe it's her mission from God to help Maria. If she will be able to live and survive why not?

*Next Day*

Hilda waked Maria so early to eat breakfast. She also asked her to bathe and dress up. They will go to the club today. It will be a different day for Maria. This is the start of the change she wanted from the start.

The secretary led them to a narrow hallway. On their 50th step, they stopped. The white door opened and shown them a very beautiful old woman.  They called her madam.

"Madam"

" What is it, Hilda"

" This is Maria, she wants to join the operation"

" Oh, okay go to the laboratory and let her be tested" " As soon as she gets a result and is all negative from the diseases then she can join"
