Chapter 7: Entering the Danger Zone

1380 Words
BRENTS POV I tilted my head back on a lounger by the pool. I tried my hardest not to openly stare at Noah. It’s moments like these when I wish I had my sunglasses with me. Noah’s chair sat catty corner from me. There were several chairs between us. Her long legs were stretched out with one knee bent. She peered down at the book in her hands. I closed my eyes and tried to relax. Instantly my mind went back to when I first walked through the pool gate. She took me by surprise when I saw the incredible curves of her body. My eyes couldn’t help but follow her head to toe. I honestly tried not to be obvious about it but I’m lucky enough that my mouth wasn’t gaped open. I imagined trailing my fingers down her beautiful neck between her round breasts. Touching her delicate soft skin today was almost too much for me. When she reached for my hand I knew I shouldn’t have held on but I couldn’t help myself. I almost didn’t let go. I glanced over at her sitting there completely in her own world. I started thinking about her tattoo, about her cancer scare. I wish I had known. She said she had great support but I was kind of sad that I wasn’t able to be one of them. I looked to my other side and saw Hayes being his normal flirty self with Brie. The two of them are both flirtatious people all on their own but put them together and it’s all just f*****g s****l tension. Hayes finally sits down. “When are you two just going to f**k and get it over with?” I ask jumping right into it. He looks at me with an offended look, “don’t be weird, man” he says placing his towel over his body. I laugh at him, “are you serious? The s****l tension between y’all is insane, bro. You know you find her attractive.” I tell him turning in my seat. “Gab? Of course I find her attractive. She’s one of the most attractive women I’ve ever met”. I raise both hands and c**k my head to the side, “so the problem?” I say still not seeing his issue. Hayes face looks annoyed now, “dude, gab is the type of girl you settle down with. I’m not interested in settling down right now. If we had s*x that’s all it’d be and to be honest, it could never be just s*x with Gabriella Rossi”. I nod my head slowly, finally understanding Hayes a little more. I know I shouldn’t prod but I just can’t help it. “Hey man, why didn’t you tell me about Noah’s cancer scare?” I ask bluntly. He looks at his sister sitting across the way, still in her own world then back to me. “How’d you know about that?” I rub the back of my neck, “well I saw her tattoo and asked about it..” I tell him. “Ughh, Were you staring at her t**s, you sick f**k?” He asks disgusted. Yes, yes I was. Oh s**t he knows. Think fast, for god sake Brent think of something to say fast. Any longer than 5 seconds and he’s going to know for sure that I was. Say something, dammit! Just as I start to say something he yells, “HEY! Noah, cover up!”. Noah quickly bites back, “shut up, Hayes!” I can’t even look over my shoulder right now, god I hope she doesn’t think anything. “dude! What the hell! No, Her tattoo is totally visible in her bathing suit”. Hayes looks down for a minute, “oh, my bad” I laugh and breath a sigh of relief before Hayes shouts again, “never mind, he wasn’t looking at your t**s!” My eyes widen in fear as I feel my soul rise above my body. I’m dead. I cringe and look over my shoulder to see Noah’s reaction. I slowly glance over and Hayes starts laughing hysterically. Noah’s chair is empty. I look around and see her and Brie just now coming back into the pool area. I want to strangle Hayes right now, “You f*****g asshole!” I yell hitting him with my towel as he continues to laugh hysterically. “What’s so funny?” Brie asks as the girls bring us drinks. “Nothing!” I quickly say glaring at Hayes. Another hour passes and the girls start to pack up their things. “Hey, I think we are headed back to the apartment. You guys wanna order pizza and hang out?” Brie asked. I look over at Hayes. He looks back at me, “I can’t say no to pizza” he says and I nod. “We’re in” I say grabbing my stuff. I throw my shirt over my head and walk behind them to their apartment. We step inside. The apartment is a little more full now that Noah’s stuff is in there. Hayes gets off the phone, “15 minutes! I’ll go pick it up” he says grabbing his truck keys. “I’ll go with you! Let’s stop at the liquor store” brie says grabbing her purse. The two of them argue and chatter out the door. They leave and I notice that Noah isn’t in the living room anymore. “Hey Brie, will you help me?” Noah says coming back into the living room. “Oh, they went to go get the pizza” I tell her motioning over my shoulder at the door “did you need help with something?” I look down at her hands and see her holding aloe lotion. She looks like she’s unsure. She hesitates for a moment. “Do you mind helping me put some of this on my back. I think I burned more than I thought I would” she laughed crossing her arms. I swallowed hard before nodding at her. Noah hands me the lotion and turns around. I know that I shouldn’t but I can’t help but look up and down her entire body. Her ass is barely covered by the swimsuit bottoms. I can’t help but notice every detail of her beautiful back. All of her curves, every beauty mark. God how I want to run my hands up her sides. Her upper back and shoulders are a light shade of red. I step closer and take in her scent. It’s addicting. “Let me know if it hurts” I say before squeezing a good amount of lotion into my hand. I rub my hands along her shoulders carefully covering her back and shoulder blades with gentle movements. My c**k hardens instantly being this close to her. I lean in and whisper “is this okay?”. She doesn’t answer, just nods quickly. I look down noticing her chest got a little red as well. “Damn, you got burnt on your chest too. Do you mind if I..” I ask nervously. She shakes her head, “no, it’s okay. Thank you”. With permission I slowly slide my hands down the front of her neck gently rubbing over the redness above her breasts. She gasps as I touch her there, her eyes are closed. It’s taking every ounce of restraint to not kiss her neck. I’m in absolute danger zone. I slowly remove my hands, noticing Noah’s breathing harder. She doesn’t turn around at all and I’m so glad, nervous that she’d see the tent in my shorts. “Thanks Brent” she says walking back to her bedroom. I clear my throat, “yeah, no problem”. I say sitting on the couch rubbing my hands down my face. What the f**k am I doing? As I sit and contemplate what I’m trying to do or not do the front door swings open and I couldn’t be more glad. Hayes and Brie walk in arguing about god knows what. Noah still hadn’t come out. Maybe I went too far. I hope she’s not avoiding me.
