“You failed me.”
The voice came out of nowhere, sharp and accusing, cutting through my sleep in a way that made my chest tighten instantly, and for a moment I could not even tell if it was real or just another strange dream my mind had decided to torture me with after everything that had been happening lately.
Failed who.
Failed how.
And why did it sound so serious.
I tried to turn in my sleep, to push the voice away and sink back into whatever peace I had managed to find, but before I could even fully wake up, I felt something pinch both sides of my cheeks at the same time, hard enough to drag me out of sleep completely.
“Ow!”
My eyes flew open immediately, and I didn’t even need a second to figure out who would dare to assault me like that because there is only one person
