Carrick's POV
Carrick had ordered his men to prepare to return to their pack the following morning. He believed he would be done with preparations that night, but he wasn’t. He hadn’t gotten back to Ruby throughout the entire day.
"I need to bring a new friend here," he said to his men. They already knew who he was talking about and what she meant to him, but they simply nodded and stayed behind to prepare for the next day.
Carrick reached the doorstep of Ruby’s parents’ house. It felt like he’d been gone for ages, and a smile crept onto his lips as he softly knocked on the door.
