Ruby's eyes grew wide with shock as she rushed to grab his trousers. She pulled them back, restricting his movement, and crashed at his feet.
"You can't leave me here, Carrick. I swear you can't," she muttered under her breath. "You said you would redefine love for me, and you have. You said you wouldn't leave my side, no matter what...and you didn’t."
