"Can I come in?" Carrick held the doorknob as she was about to shut the door against him. She hated that he had lured her to open the door by making her drunk father say the words instead. Her father had walked away, probably hit his head on the wall, but he didn’t glance in that direction. She looked around but didn’t see him, and with a sigh, turned to Carrick.
"I'm quite busy at the moment. We can probably talk tomorrow at the pack. I should have some free time then," she said, but he remained at the doorstep, a smile dancing on his lips. She wanted to shut the door, but she held it and pulled it open again.
"W-What exactly do you want? You've gotten my father drunk, and now you're here to talk to me?"
