Carrick's POV Carrick got to his office as early as 7 a.m. There were lots of tasks to be attended to for the day. His Beta was not around, and the Gammas could try to fill that gap, but they couldn't do it as effectively as the Beta could. That meant only one thing: Carrick would have an extraordinary amount of work to do. He dropped into his seat and placed the files on his desk, scanning through the contracts he had recently signed and those he had rejected. He filtered the ones he would like to sign and those he would likely deny. A few seconds later, his wolf stirred within him. He relaxed in his seat as his wolf continued to trouble him. He tried to suppress the feelings and bury them, but his wolf didn’t stop agitating his insides until he paid attention to what might be going on
