Carrick's POV
The day was already growing dark, and it had been many hours since Carrick began searching for Ruby. It hadn’t crossed his mind that she might have been kidnapped by Tyrus, as he believed Tyrus wouldn’t dare do something so reckless. They had signed a contract, and playing such games would result in its immediate termination...and possible compensation.
Carrick was now deep in the woods, shouting her name while troops spread out across the packs. Some were with him in the forest. They were all looking for Ruby.
Under the bright light of the full moon, Carrick swore to the goddess that he would slay whoever had taken Ruby...even if it turned out to be his elder sister. And he was a man who never joked about an oath.
