Ruby's POV
Carrick held Ruby's hand as they strolled toward the next spot. It was the main centre of his pack...where wolves would come to eat. It was like a restaurant within the pack.
“Wolves come here to have whatever meal they manage to gather,” Carrick whispered in her ear. “And that building over there is the one I built for my mate, hoping I would find her someday.”
Ruby’s eyes gleamed with surprise, but doubt held her back as she rolled her eyes at him. “You don’t mean it.”
“Actually, you’re right. I don’t. We don’t build houses for our lovers. We have a different way of showing love to them,” Carrick said, and a smile spread across his lips as he lifted Ruby off the ground and hoisted her onto his back.
