Ruby's POV
"Ruby, what's the matter?" Her father asked in an enraged tone. He was trying hard to keep his cool, but Ruby wasn’t helping matters with the rage surging through her.
"This is between me and her. Save your strength and return to the living room, Father," Ruby said, letting out a frustrated sigh when he still stood there.
"You don’t tell me what to do, Ruby. Stop holding onto your sister so fiercely and explain to me what just happened here!" He scowled at her, but she said nothing. She hissed and turned to leave.
"If you walk out on me, you’re indirectly telling me you’re no longer my daughter," her father said in a frail voice. But Ruby let out a loud hiss and walked away from the room, running down the stairs and leaving the living room as soon as she reached it.
