CLOVIS STOOD AT THE window, watching for any movement into or out of the room next door. It had been a stroke of luck the room next to the kidnappers’ was available. Since they’d settled into the musty-smelling room, another car had arrived and parked next to the van. A fat guy with sparse, black hair and bulging brown eyes had climbed out and gone into the kidnapper’s room. He was apparently a replacement for spiky-headed, scary-eyed guy.
