CASSIAN’S POV The council room was starting to feel like a tomb. For three straight hours, the elders had been bickering over maps, border security, and the logistics of the upcoming alliance banquet. Their voices droned on and on, bouncing off the high stone walls until the constant, repetitive noise made my jaw ache from clenching it.
