Chapter 103

ELAYNE After the situation with Susanne, there was no way I would let it repeat itself. After many tries, I succeeded in binding my chest the most effective way; at least in the way that I won’t be suspected. Tyler entertained the queen while Lion followed me. “What kind of sorcery did you perform?” “A little bit of experience with a little bit of magic and tadaa! Flat chest.” “Wow… can you teach me?” “... Why?” “I really just want to know how it works.” “Not today. I have to rest. See you later.” Saying that, I slept the whole day and only woke up in the middle of the night to someone breathing down my neck. As expected, he snuck into my room and slept there. Turning, I looked at him. He looked so peaceful, even if he was being a nuisance. Annoyed, I pulled at his cheeks. “... I’ll do it tomorrow, let me sleep…” he mumbled, cuddling me tighter. Trying again, I pinched his nose. That woke him up. “What?” “You’re sleeping in my bed and you’re asking me that?” “I can’t sleep without you now. Accept that.” “... You’ve lost your mind.” “Only for you, my dearest.” I shook my head, deciding to ignore his comments. “Where’s your mother?” “I convinced her to leave again. I’m sure she’ll be back tomorrow with my father or Susanne.” “What are you going to do about her? I’m not sure what’s wrong with your family but they have a habit of groping my chest.” “My mother did that too?! What’s wrong with them?! Even I haven’t had the opportunity to fully… ow!” “Shut up!” “Why are you hitting me?” “You’re annoying. I’m leaving this place tomorrow.” “Don’t leave! I’ll make sure she doesn’t come back!” “That’s what you said the last time. I’m not trusting you anymore.” “Ariana… don’t leave me.” “I’m not listening to you anymore. Goodnight.” Ignoring his pleads, I fall back to sleep. The next morning, I find myself tighyly bound to him. There’s also the stinging feeling on my neck that I’m sure came from him. Wiggling my body, I slip out of his hold with much difficulty and leave the room. It was a moning routine to visit the courtyard to practice my skills. To my surprise, Tyler was waiting there. “Good morning, my lady.” “Is there a problem Tyler?” “No… why would you assume that?” “You’re waiting for me here so early in the morning. I’m assuming you want to say something important.” “I want to confirm something.” “Hmm, go on then.” Seeing his hesitation, I could already guess what he was going to say. I picked up a wooden sword and began to swing it, waiting for his reply. “You’re… Princess Ariana, right?” “Yes, I am Princess Ariana.” “I see... it makes sense now.” “You already know that. What’s the real question you came to ask?” “I really love your intuition, my lady. It’s one of the reasons I adore you.” “Please speak before I impale you with this sword.” “Haha… I need to know what your goals are.” “My goal for now is to dethrone the man who stole the throne of my father. After that, I can think of new goals.” “No offense my lady but King Mival isn’t exactly the kind of opponent that can be defeated easily.” “You think I don’t know that? Why else do you think I would be here, shamelessly allying myself with the husband I abandoned?” “I don’t think it’s being shameless when he forced you to be here.” “Still… that’s no excuse.” “That’s a lot of burden you’re putting on your own shoulders. No wonder his highness is worried for you.” “I bided my time for five long years, tyring each every way to make sure I take back what was once mine. I couldn’t do it. I’ve been here for about half a ywar but still, nothing. When exactly would I get to take back what was once mine?” “I understand your frustration, I really do but still…” “You came here first as a spy of the church, didn’t you? Your whole story of wanting to serve the prince because of how intruiging you found him wasn’t a true story until recently, was it?” “I hardly think that matters…” “I think you should understand that some things are very hard to let go of. I can’t let go of my past neither can I watch the c*****e being wreked upon the world by a man my father should have stopped.” “My lady, if you already depend on Prince Kalvin to help you, why don’t you do just that? Why must you suffer even more?” “I’m not depending on Kalvin to help me. I’ve been brainstorming, non stop, how to defeat that man ever since I got here. I have tried so many methods but none have worked. All Kalvin has preached to me is lofty ideals that cannot work if I’m not someone like him. I used to be but not anymore.” “Fine. why don’t you let me help you? “How?” “It depends. Tell me these lofty ideals and I’ll tell you how to fulfil them.” “Fine. the plan was to divide Casella and take over half then merge that half with Zerramond.” “That doesn’t sound like a bad plan.” “It has too many uncertainties.” “I can see where you’re coming from but if you want to take over a part of Casella, it isn’t exactly impossible. Prince Kalvin is more than capable of that.” “What if I don’t want to depend on him?” “That’s reasonable. Then, will you talk to your aunt yourself? I’m sure she’ll be more than happy to hand over the reins of the border to you, especially since you have the seal with you.” “... How did you know about the seal?” Tyler gave a cryptic smile. I pointed the wooden sword at his neck. “Talk, Tyler.” “I can arrange a meeting with her if you so wish. Have a nice day, my lady.”
