Ash took a chair close by, but still, he refused to look at me. He stared at the wall instead and clenched and unclenched his fists. I wanted to sit up and yell at him to just talk already, but of course, I wasn’t able to do that right now. As happy as I had been to be with him again, now I almost just wanted to go to bed and escape him, let death come and all. “I’m sorry, Willow.” The words were so soft I had to strain to hear them.
