Chapter 35

Cara's P.O.V.

As the aircraft bounced up and down, I prayed to God that we would be able to land safely in London. I heard the aircraft scream as it continued to bounce as I felt us going closer to the ground. " Ken, what if we don't make it?" I said to him as he grabbed my hand and held it tight. " I'm not going to let anything happen to you " he said as he kissed the top of my hand and I felt the plane dip even further. Then we felt a thud and sparks were going everywhere when I looked out the window. The flight attendant ran up to us, " GET UP, GET UP. The back of the aircraft is on fire , we have to immediately get off!" she yelled as we quickly got up and followed her to the emergency exit. The plane finally came to a stop and before the emergency slide could be deployed, there was an explosion and everything went black.

Shawn's P.O.V.

As we sped away into the night, I turned to Vlad and he just shook his head. " So who are you two and where are you taking me?" Cara's Aunt Dana said as I watched the rearview mirror for anyone tailing us. " I'm Shawn, Cara's personal bodyguard assigned by the King. This is Vlad, he is my friend who is our lifesaver at the moment" I said as I continued to watch. " As far as where we are taking you, that is classified" Vlad said as he pushed down on the accelerator and the car moved faster down a deserted highway. " How did Ivan get ahold of you?" I asked Dana. " I was at the grocery store and all of a suddent two guys came out of nowhere when I was putting stuff in my car. They grabbed me up and brought me here" she said sadly. " My husband Ken, he said he met you when he first went to visit Cara a few months ago. He told me that you were a good guy" she said as I smiled back at her. " Thanks" I said as Vlad turned off onto a dirt road and a small cabin showed up by the car's headlights. " We will stay here for the night, until we can get you back to the palace safely" I said as we followed Vlad into the small cabin. There was a bedroom and bathroom, along with a couch and recliner in the living room. The small kitchenette was alongside within the living room but it would do for the time being. " You can take the bedroom" I told Dana as she nodded and I sat down on the couch, ready to discuss business with Vlad.

Cara's P.O.V.

I awoke to hear beeping sounds and I felt like it was a dream, not sure what was real or not. " She is stable, but may not wake up for awhile. She has a concussion and several broken ribs. The blast was severe, but not enough to damage internal organs. If it hadn't been for her Uncle, I don't know what would have happened" the voice said as I tried to open my eyes, but they felt like they were 100 pounds. I tried to move my hand but it was too heavy, so I just stayed quiet trying to figure out who was talking. " Thank you Doctor, please go check on my brother in law" I heard my mother say. I wanted to tell her that I could hear her, but my body just felt stiff and broken. Pain radiated through my body and it took everything I had to move my head just a little bit. " Cara, Cara... don't move too suddenly" I heard my mother say as she took my hand in her's. " Listen to me my dear, I love you so much and we will find out whoever was behind all of this" she said as she kissed my forehead and I felt myself succumb to the darkness again.

Shawn's P.O.V.

"Vlad, how are we going to get out of this one?" I said as I leaned back on the couch and my head was spinning around all the drama we just dealt with. "' Well, since I am now in this with you. We will have to come up with an exit strategy" he said as he handed me a shot of vodka. " Do you ever drink anything other than this?" I asked him as he laughed and drank. " No, this is like water to me. I drink it no matter what I am doing" he smirked as I thought about what we could do. " How long would it take for us to make this look like we had an accident and we get them off our tail?" I said as my phone went off.

Cara's been in an accident...plane landed in London. She's in the hospital...

Queen Elisabeth

" Oh my God" I said as I read the message. I showed the text to Vlad and he shook his head. " Well, that's one way to keep them off our trail. We get onto a new one before they realize we have left. I will get us plane tickets now" he said as he slapped my shoulder and went to his laptop. I sent a message back

Thank you , tell her I love her

I didn't want to give away my location so I decoded it so that when the message sent, it would not say from where. I hoped Cara was okay, I prayed that she would make it out of this one.
