Chapter 34

Cara's P.O.V.

I leaned up against the window of the private aircraft that my parents had put my Uncle and I on. I felt like I was powerless to my circumstances. My Uncle nudged me from my thoughts, " You okay?" He asked me as I just shrugged. " I didn't want things to end up like this, why must I be a pawn in their game?" I asked him as a tear streamed down my face. He brought his hand up to wipe it, " Cara I don't have all the answers. But just know that, no matter what I will always be here for you. I know this is why your Aunt left this life. She wanted to have her freedom, just like you" he said sadly. " I know she has to be safe with Shawn, I can feel it" I told him reassuringly as I felt the plane dip down unexpectedly. " What's going on?" I asked the flight attendant, " Not sure your highness. I'll go check" she said as she hurried to the cockpit. I heard the pilots whisper to her and she closed the door quickly. " We have to make an emergency landing in London, something is wrong with the airplane" she said as we fastened our seatbelts and felt the plane dip even further as I prayed that we would land safely.

Shawn's P.O.V.

Vlad and I had our plan ready to go as we entered the private club of Ivan's. The wall coloring was black and red striped all over, with red couches and leather wing backs placed everywhere. Russian men sat all around while, women in skimpy outfits walked around with trays of alcohol. It seemed to fit the type of person that Ivan struck me as. " Glad to see you two made it, anything you want it's yours. Girls, booze, anything" he said as he held both of Vlad and I's shoulders. He patted our backs, then walked off. Vlad and I sat down at a booth as a tall blonde came up to me and asked, " hey handsome, anything I can get you?" As she rubbed her hand up and down my toned arm. I just looked at her and smiled, " Yes do you know where Ivan's office is?" She just smiled back and said, " Follow me" as she took my hand and led me down a hallway where I could hear Ivan talking on the phone.

" Yes, I've got her. Don't worry about the bodyguard, he's my brother and and I won't let him meddle any longer. I've got a special mission for him anyway " Ivan laughed evily. I turned to blonde and whispered,

" Have you seen any older women come in here tonight?" She looked at me and thought for a moment, " What if I have? It's going to cost you" she said as she got closer to me. I moved her further down the hallway till I saw a door partially opened. It was a makeshift bedroom, so I pushed her on the bed. " What do you want?" I asked her as she looked me up and down, licking her lips. " Just a taste, then I'll tell you everything you want to know" She replied as I sat down on the bed next to her. I gently kissed her lips and she responded fiercely, as she and I fought for dominance. It didn't feel right because it wasn't Cara but I had to find out what was going on and I felt this would be the only way I could get answers .

Suddenly the door opened adjoining the room we were in and Cara's aunt stepped out followed by a guard. " What are you doing in here?" He yelled at me. I got up quickly and knocked him out cold, before he could even get the first punch in. Cara's aunt just looked at me " who are you?" " I'm Shawn, Cara's bodyguard. We're leaving" I said to her as the blonde stood in our way of the door. " I don't think so sweetheart " she smirked at me. She pulled a gun out from behind her back, and I just stood there. I put my hand behind my back and touched my watch. " Ivan will be happy to see that his brother is a traitor, it will make me even look better." She said as stood there with the gun drawn. " Well, if he hadn't put me in this position, then I wouldn't be here" I said as I saw the door creak behind her and as she turned, Vlad hit her with the butt of his gun and she fell to the floor. " Thanks" I said as I grabbed Dana, Cara's aunt and we ran down the hallway out to the exit. I could hear gunshots as we exited the door and we ducked into the car Vlad had ready as we sped off into the night.
