Chapter 28

Cara's P.O.V.

I felt like I was dreaming, I was wearing a white sun dress while walking in a sun flower field. I felt the petals against my skin as I skipped through the rows of beautiful flowers. I heard someone call my name and I turned quickly to see Shawn standing at the end of a row, holding his arms out towards me. I ran to him but the quicker I ran, the further apart from me he became. Then all of a sudden I was pulled down into a dark abyss while calling out his name. I searched around for anything that looked normal but everything was dark.

The only answer I received was hearing a machine beeping. I suddenly awoke and realized I was in the hospital. I moved my arms and legs and thankfully everything seemed to be okay. I faintly remember yelling at my father than going out. That's why I must be here, as I looked around it was now night time and I felt a presence near me but couldn't make out the figure. As they came closer, I recognized the cologne and my hearbeat furiously. I slowly lifted my eyes open completely and saw Shawn standing right in front of me. " is this a dream?" I asked. " No my love, I'm here. How are you feeling?" He asked me softly. " I'm okay, what time is it?" I asked. " nearly 2am, but don't worry about that, I've missed you Cara.

When they told me what happened, it made me furious" he said as he held my hand gently. " Don't worry Shawn, everything will work out" I said hopeful.

He shook his head no and looked deep into my eyes, " No my dear it's not. The only way we can be together is if I find out the truth behind who kidnapped you. Only then, we can be together happily. I promise you, I'm going to do everything I can to get to the bottom of this. I love you so much" he said with a lone tear in his eye. I brought my hand up to his cheek, " I love you too" as he leaned down and kissed me tenderly, yet lustful. We heard a knock on the door, and he looked at me helpless. " I'll be in touch soon" he said as he quickly hid behind the door as the nurse walked in and noticed I was awake.

" Your highness, so glad to see your awake. I will notify your parents and fiance immediately as they requested " as she hurried out of the room and I groaned in frustration. I only wanted one person in my room and he had to hide in order to see me. He came back from behind the door and winked at me. He gave me another kiss and put his forehead against mine, " Wait for me please " he said as I nodded yes. He quickly left before the nurse came back, followed by my parents and fiance, Adrian.

Adrian's P.O.V.

When I got to the hospital, Cara had been sedated to keep her heart rate calm. The King and Queen had a private suite to wait in, so we waited until she awoke. I had fallen asleep, when the nurse rushed in and woke us up letting us know that Cara was awake. " Oh my darling, I was so worried " the Queen said as we walked into Cara's room.

She just faintly smiled at her mother but I could tell she was still upset with me and her father. I decided to try to smooth things out with her to keep the peace within the family. " Cara, if you want to wait to get married we can. I know this had been stressful on you and I want to make it a bit easier" as I sat down next to her and grabbed her hand in mine. The King looked at me curiously, but I just nodded to reassuringly to not say anything. " Really?" She replied weakly. " Yes dear , I don't want to further stress you. So we will wait till your ready" I said as she smiled even brighter. The woman really was beautiful, even in the hospital. " but you won't make him wait too long, correct?' The King interjected in our moment. " No, father" she replied meekly as I continued to act like the concerned fiance. This was working better to my advantage, now with Shawn out of the picture.

Shawn's P.O.V.

I ran out of the hospital to my car, so I could start my newest mission. I felt confident that things were going to workout with the love that Cara and I shared. I got to work on connecting with some of my underground contacts who could help me with information about the connections between the Russians and the Germans. I got into contact with Vlad, an older army buddy who decided to go rogue and support his own missions. He had made it pretty far and I knew he could help me out.

"Vlad"

" Ahh Shawn my comrade, how are you?"

" good, did you get the information?"

" yes...it is quite intriguing about what I found..."

" when can we meet?"

" downtown at the white russian bar in 30 minutes "

" see you soon"

I couldn't wait to hear what he had found.
