Chapter 26

Cara's P.O.V.

My heart dropped as I entered my room, there sitting on the bed was Adrian in a robe. " My sweetest love, I am here to finish what we started the other day" he announced as he handed me a glass of champagne and I just took it with hesitation.

" What do you want?" I asked scared of what may happen next. " Well, our engagement has been cut short, your father will announce that our wedding will take place within two weeks and then we will be happily married" he said as he grabbed my waist. I just looked at him and decided now was the time to be honest. " I cannot marry you Adrian. I cannot give you what you seek. I am in love with someone else and I cannot go through with this" I announced as confidently as I could. " I know" he said as he caressed my cheek. " I know you and Shawn love each other. It is written all over your face as I have seen you two together" he said as he came back around me and held me by my waist as his front was to my back. " I also know that your virtue is questionable....have you allowed him to take you?" he asked me as I was not going to give him an answer. It was not his business what Shawn and I did and so I remained silent. " From your silence, I assume he already has. Well that will be unfortunate for your father to hear about, but we can make an ammendment to the contract" he said as he pulled me against him and I could feel his hardened length against my backside. " What contract?" I asked quizzically. He laughed and I felt the vibration against me. " Well, your father and my father signed an agreement with this marriage. If you were pure, he would get an extra $10 million dollars in our contract" he said with glee. " but I'm pretty sure that has been forfeited so I will have to let my father know about this" he said as he started to touch between my legs. I felt his touch on me and it disgusted me as he rubbed up against my core and whispered against my ear, " This is supposed to be mine and mine alone, but I guess I will have to take what I can get" as he turned me around to him.

I couldn't take him anymore, so I threw the champagne in his face and got out of his grip. I ran out of the room and down the stairs and practically ran into my mother. " Cara, my dear is everything okay?" she asked me as she held me close. " No, can we talk somewhere private?" I asked her as she nodded her head and I looked up to see Adrian glowering at me as my mother led me to another part of the estate.

We ended up coming into a garden room, surrounded by glass everywhere that let the natural sunlight it. There were couches and loveseats to sit in while admiring all the beautiful plants and flowers.

" This is my private area, I come here when I want to be alone" my mother announced as she locked the door. " Your father even knows not to bother me when I'm in here" she laughed as she sat down in the chair across from me. " Okay, I want to know everything my dear" she said as I looked at her. I always wanted a mother to talk to, but since I had never really experienced that, I wasn't sure where to start. " Just start from the beginning.." she said as I finally decided to open up. I told her about how everything started with Shawn and I, to the incidents with Adrian and I led her up until when I ran into her downstairs. "Wow...my dear" she said as I took a breath, hoping that I didn't just ruin my chances of getting out of this arranged marriage. "Well, I have to be honest this is not an ideal situation but I do think I can help in some way" " How?!" I asked in anticipation of what she could help me with. " Well, if we could find out information about who originally took you, I think it would help with keeping you here instead of being married to Adrian. If we find out who it is with Shawn's help of course, then I might be able to persuade your father to keep you here longer. I know he is wanting to marry you off sooner than planned, but I personally am against it. I want to spend more time with my beautiful daughter" she said as she sat down next to me and hugged me. " I do too mother "I replied as we heard a knock on the door. " Your majesties, your requested to see the King in his office immediately" one of the butler's announced. We got up and opened the door and followed them to my father's study. Here is to hoping everything works out.

Shawn's P.O.V

" Sire, I can explain.." I said as he held his hand up and I sat down quietly. " Shawn, you and I go way back. I appreciate you saving my life and how you have protected this family up to this point, but I cannot use your services any longer. It is more important to our family for this marriage to happen then for you and Cara to be in love with each other" he said to me seriously. " So, Sire you would rather your daughter get married for your family's benefit then to marry someone for love?" I asked him as he looked at me solemnly.

" Yes" he said as I felt my heartbreak for both myself and Cara. " I understand Sire" as I got up and left his study. There was nothing left for me, even though Cara and I loved each other. There was nothing I could do in order for us to be together according his majesty. I saw Cara and her mother walking towards me as I tried to ignore Cara's eyes. " Shawn..." I heard Cara say as stopped. Her voice always made me stop and want to hold her in my arms forever. I turned to her as I heard her mother say, "Cara..spend a few moments with him while I go talk to your father" the Queen said as Cara nodded and I pulled her into the closest room that was empty.

Cara just stood in front of me with her eyes just looking deep into my soul. I didn't want to have to break it to her that I was no longer in service to the King, but I knew I had to. " Cara..." I started out as she put her finger to my lips. I just looked at her as we stared at each other and our eyes told the story of how we felt about each other. Cara made the first move as she grabbed my face in her petite hands and kissed me passionately.

I reciprocated with holding her body close to mine as our tongues fought for dominance as we made out. I pressed myself against her as she held onto my neck with her arms. We continued to kiss each other passionately and I felt myself becoming aroused as she giggled against my lips. We seperated for a moment to catch our breath and she said, " I love you Shawn and I would rather run away for the rest of my life if it meant being with you always" she said as I could see tears in her eyes beginning to form. She really had melted away my dark side and had brought a light I never even knew existed within me. " I know my love, but is that truly how you want to live?" I asked her. " Yes and no.... I just want to be with you. I don't want to live a lie being married to someone that I don't love" she said as she put her arms around my waist. " I know, and unfortunately I have some bad news..." I said as she looked at me, " Your father let me go, I am no longer allowed to work for his Majesty any longer" I announced as she gasped and put her hands towards her face. She shook and started to cry as I held her in my arms close, trying to savor this moment for as long as I possibly could.
