Ch 12 New Plans

Cara's P.O.V.

After we left the dress shop, I knew I needed to talk to Shawn privately. He was playing with me and it was driving me crazy. The way I brushed up against him was no joke, I wanted to see how he would react in front of everyone and I must say he was on his A game. He didn't act like he was even fazed, but I could tell by the way he looked at me with his eyes he wanted to do something more to me than what he did.

We were led back to the castle with Shawn following behind in the Range Rover and I really needed to talk to him. We pulled up into the driveway and he opened up my door once we had stopped. " Thank you Shawn" as I put my hand into his and held it gently for a moment. " Your welcome your highness" as he helped me out and quickly winked at me. " I want to see you later" I whispered to him. He looked at me and just nodded in agreement. " Cara, Cara.. come quickly, your father and I need to talk you immediately dear. Shawn will you escort her to my study please?" " Yes, your highness" he replied as I followed him into the castle, wondering what was going on.

We reached the study and my mother and father were sitting together on a couch while they motioned for me to sit in a high back chair adjacent to them. They both looked at each other than looked at me. Shawn had shut the door behind me, so it was just us three together.

" Darling, your father and I have been talking and we think it's in your best interest right now that you leave us for awhile to further your studies in the states." my mother said smiling at me.

" What do you mean? I thought I was supposed to marry Prince Adrian next month?" I asked. " Well, yes you were but I have talked to him and his parents and they have come to an agreement that they can wait in the interest of your education. They want you to have a degree and according to your schooling it would only be about eighteen months in the states and then you can transfer back here to finish it. We want you to be happy and I know that what we discussed earlier would grant that wish for you" my mother said happily.

My father grabbed my hands, " It would make me so happy for you to stay here instead, but your mother has persuaded me into this. Do not disappoint me. Shawn will be assigned to protect you, you will not be allowed to have any boyfriends or anything of that sort. Is that clear?" he said looking at me sternly. " I understand father , you don't have to worry. I've never had a serious one anyway, so schooling is my top priority." I said happily. " Good, that 's what I like to hear. You and Shawn will be leaving in the morning, we have already taken care of a place for you and your registration for your classes. You will be starting school next week, so make sure you get everything else you need before classes start" my father said as he got up and took my hand to help me up as well. He gave me a hug and whispered, " If you need anything, always know that Shawn will protect you with his life" as he kissed my cheek and motioned for me to leave. I bowed and left the study as a tear rolled down my cheek, Shawn and I definitely were going to talk now.

Shawn's P.O.V.

As I left the King and Queen to talk to Cara, I walked into the kitchen to get a snack. As I grabbed a sandwich that the cooks had prepared, one of the maids came and found me. " Sir, the Princess is requesting your presence in her room" as she bowed and left. I finished my sandwich quickly and grabbed two bottles of water and another sandwich for her. She hadn't eaten today, so I knew she may be hungry. I stepped up the stairs every two steps so that I could get there quicker. I reached her door and knocked twice. " Come in" she said quietly. I walked in with the food and said,

" Are you hungry Your highness?" As I held out the sandwich and bottle of water. " Thank you Shawn, that's very sweet of you " as she took the food from me and started to eat. I smiled as I watched her delicately eat the sandwich. It was quite adorable, then she took a drink of water. " So..." I said wondering what she wanted to see me about. She got up from her bed and walked over to where I was standing in the middle of her room. She grabbed my hand and brought me back to the bed. She pushed me down and I laid back on the bed as she straddled me. " Well, Princess whatever you have to say must be important if your wanting me to lay down on your bed" I playfully said. She just blushed and looked down. She always did that when she became embarrassed. I took her chin in my hand and and brought her lips to mine.

As I kissed her gently, I felt her relax as she started to grind against me. I felt myself becoming turned on, so I grabbed her hips and stopped her. She just looked up at me with her face flushed and smiled. " I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself" she said quietly. " You know I want you more than anything, but this is not the time or place" as she nodded in agreement.

Cara's P.O.V.

I nodded with what he said, but I did have to ask him a question. " Did you convince my parents to let me go back to the states to finish my degree?" He looked up at me with those beautiful green eyes and smiled. " I convinced your father, now your mother I did not" he said as he looked into my eyes, as though he was trying to read my soul.

I just looked at him and put both my hands to his beautiful face and kissed him with everything I had. He had helped make my dream come true without realizing how much he truly meant to. As we broke away breathlessly,

" You are amazing, you know that ?" As I caresses his face. He just looked at me and smiled, " Well I had to do it for the one I most care about" he said. I just stared at him in awe, how was I going to be able to keep my hands off of him back in the states?
