--- Chapter 15: The First Fight as a Couple Being in love was one thing. But being in a relationship? That was a whole different battlefield. Aanya and Riaan had spent years fighting each other. Now, they had to learn how to fight for each other. And it wasn’t easy. Especially when Riaan forgot their first proper date. Aanya sat at the fancy rooftop restaurant, waiting. The waiter had already refilled her water three times. Still no Riaan. Finally, her phone rang. "Kapoor, I am so, so—" "Don’t say ‘sorry.’" Her voice was cold. "Just tell me where you are." A pause. "...At a client meeting." Her heart sank. He had forgotten. Not because of an emergency. Not because of something unavoidable. Just… work. "Okay," she said quietly. "Okay?" he echoed, sounding uncertain. "Yeah," she said, grabbing her bag. "You do your thing. I’ll do mine." And then—she hung up. --- Chapter 16: The Silent Treatment Riaan hated being ignored. Aanya ignored him for two whole days. No texts. No calls. Not even sarcastic insults. He even sent flowers. She sent them back. Finally, he showed up at her office. Aanya glanced up, unimpressed. "You’re trespassing, Khanna." "You’re being dramatic, Kapoor." "Am I?" She crossed her arms. "Or am I just treating you the way you treated me?" Riaan sighed. "Look, I messed up. But—" "No ‘but.’" Her voice was sharp. "You forgot. You didn’t even remember on your own. I had to remind you." "I know." His jaw tightened. "And I hate that I hurt you." Aanya stared at him. The sincerity in his eyes… it was real. Too real. And just like that—she couldn’t stay mad anymore. "Fine," she muttered. "You’re forgiven." "That easy?" he teased. She rolled her eyes. "I never said it was easy." But when she turned away, she smiled. --- Chapter 17: Meeting the Parents… Kind Of Aanya hadn’t planned on introducing Riaan to her family yet. But fate had other plans. They were at a café, minding their own business, when suddenly— "AANYA BETA!" She froze. Oh. No. Her mother was standing at the entrance. With her aunties. Riaan, ever the businessman, stood up to shake her mother’s hand. "Mrs. Kapoor, it’s an honor." Her mom eyed him like a hawk. "Aanya, you didn’t tell me you had such a… handsome friend." Riaan smirked. "I’m not just her friend, ma’am." Aanya nearly choked on her coffee. Her mother’s eyebrows shot up. "Oh?" Aanya kicked Riaan under the table. But he just grinned. Great. Now she had to deal with wedding talk for the next five years. --- Chapter 18: The Love Confession… Gone Wrong Riaan decided to do something big. A romantic surprise. He booked an entire rooftop, fairy lights, a private dinner, the whole cliché. But when Aanya arrived, she took one look around and burst out laughing. "This is not you, Khanna," she teased. Riaan frowned. "What?" "You don’t do… grand romantic gestures. You make sarcastic comments and steal my fries." "...So, you don’t like it?" She softened. "I love it." And then, just to mess with him, she leaned in and whispered— "But I would’ve loved it more if you had brought me a burger." He groaned. "You’re impossible." "And you love it," she grinned. Riaan shook his head, laughing. Yeah. Yeah, he did. --- Chapter 19: The Almost Breakup Not all love stories were smooth. One night, Aanya and Riaan had their biggest fight yet. It wasn’t about work. It wasn’t about business. It was about the future. Aanya had plans. She wanted to expand her business internationally. Riaan had responsibilities. His family business needed him in Mumbai. "So what are you saying?" Riaan’s voice was low. "That we can’t make this work?" Aanya hesitated. "I don’t know," she admitted. And for the first time, Riaan looked scared. "Are you… leaving me?" She wanted to say no. She wanted to say never. But all she said was— "I need time." And then… she walked away. --- Chapter 20: The Realization Two weeks. That’s how long they spent apart. Riaan had never felt this empty. Until one day, his best friend smacked him on the back of the head and said— "Bro. You’re miserable." Riaan sighed. "I know." "So fix it." "...How?" "Go to her, idiot." And so, he did. --- Chapter 21: The Grand Finale Aanya was at the airport. Ticket in hand. About to leave. And then— "Kapoor!" She froze. Turned around. And saw him. Riaan. Standing in the middle of the airport. "Don’t go," he said, voice loud enough for everyone to hear. Aanya’s heart raced. "Riaan—" "I don’t care if you want to expand your business. I don’t care if we have to do long distance. I’ll fly to you every weekend if I have to. I just—" He exhaled. "I just need you in my life, Kapoor." Silence. Then, slowly, she smiled. "Well, it’s about time you said that." She dropped her bag, ran to him— And kissed him. Loud cheers erupted around them. But they didn’t hear a thing. Because in that moment, there was only them.
