Love in the City Lights Chapter 1: Strangers in the Crowd Mira Kapoor loved Mumbai—the energy, the lights, the endless possibilities. But as she stood on the crowded local train platform, holding her laptop bag close, she wasn’t feeling the magic. Then it happened. A rush of movement, a missed step, and before she could react, she stumbled—only to be caught by strong hands. "Careful," a deep voice murmured. She looked up into a pair of amused brown eyes. Arjun Mehra. Tall, sharp-jawed, with an effortless charm. He was the kind of man who belonged in expensive boardrooms, not in a dusty train station. "Uh… thanks," she muttered, pulling away. "Next time, try not to fall for strangers," he teased. She narrowed her eyes. Arrogant jerk. Little did she know, this was just the beginning. --- Chapter 2: The Office War Begins Mira walked into her first day at her new job, excited but nervous. Until she saw him. Sitting in the corner office, smirking like he owned the world. Arjun Mehra. "You?!" she blurted. He leaned back. "Nice to see you too, Kapoor." As it turned out, Arjun was not only her senior at work but also her direct competition. "I hope you’re ready," he said smoothly. "Because I don’t lose." Mira lifted her chin. "Neither do I." And just like that, the war began. --- Chapter 3: Unexpected Chemistry Days turned into weeks, and their rivalry only grew. Arguments in meetings. Stealing each other’s ideas. Sarcastic emails. But then… there were moments. Like the time Arjun waited in the rain when her cab broke down. Or when Mira found out he secretly donated to a charity she supported. And then there was that night—the office party. A slow song played. A dare was made. And suddenly, they were dancing, too close, too aware. "Tell me to stop," Arjun whispered. Mira’s heart pounded. But she didn’t. Because maybe, just maybe, she didn’t want to. --- Chapter 4: The Fall It happened slowly. Late-night coffees at the office. Accidental touches. Shared secrets. Until one night, Arjun showed up outside her apartment. "I don’t want to fight with you anymore," he admitted. "I want—" Mira didn’t let him finish. She kissed him first. And under the city lights, she realized—maybe, just maybe, she had fallen for the man she once swore to hate. THE END. ---
