The Weapon?

I stared at the shadow, terrified, it was very big about two meters long, with tons of muscles all over its massive body; I had a plan yet I was still scared because I changed the future, this face off did not happen before, I used to just runaway like a prey.

But now I have a plan.

I grabbed the toy car I bought earlier, stood between the monster and "Arsenio", praying that it will work out some how then I lifted it up in front of its like a cross, and watched its reaction.

Its eyeless face, bended towards the toy, as if it was scanning it, and surprisingly it took a step back while the purple waves turned into navy.

I could not believe myself, I did not imagine that it will actually work!

But there was no time to celebrate, I whispered to "Arsenio" without lifting my eyes from the monster:

- Lets get out of here; it is no longer safe.

He replied while grabbing his teddy bear :

- Ok.

We both moved slowly beside the frozen monster without lifting our eyes from it; I felt its anger, may be because we found out its weakness point and it could not crush us as it wanted.

Once we got out of the room we ran at maximum speed; and after few meters "Arsenio" asked me:

- What do we do now?

I replied:

- Let us hide in a toy shop.

Even in that situation I could not help but to feel worried about "Grace" however I had to make sure that "Arsenio" is safe because he died first last time while she managed to survive at least until the monsters got me.

The toy shop was not very far but I was very anxious because I was not sure how many monsters can one toy repel off, also the desperate screams coming from everywhere made me horrified, I wanted to help but the number of monsters were too many but then I got an idea; I took my smart phone out of my pocket and quickly posted on social media that I succeeded to repel a monster off using a toy and asked them to share as much as possible then put the phone back to my pocket hoping that it will work.

Finally, we have reached our destination but the door of the small toys shop was shut closed so I grabbed a big rock and smashed the door's window then sneaked my hand in while ignoring the anti-theft alarm sirens and managed to open the door.

We both threw ourselves on the ground to catch our breath and then "Arsenio" looked at me with regretting eyes and said:

- I am sorry that I did not believe you.

Although I knew that no one could believe such story I still had felt a little annoyed that he did not believe me because we have lived together for two years now in that dorm and he should had already knew that I do not tell lies.

But, I kept it all to myself as always and just smiled and said:

- Do not worry about it.

A crushing sound startled me, I turned at the door quickly and saw a monster standing there, it looked very angry as the purple electric waves were moving so fast in an obvious furious, but we should be safe.

Or that was what I thought.

I smirked and said:

- You cannot come in here, the place is full of children's stuff.

But the monster took a step inside, unaffected by the toys around it, then it raised its hand, the killing gesture that I knew very well, because it was the last thing I saw last time before...

I died.

"Arsenio" panicked:

- Why is not he affected by the toys.

I was so nervous so I shouted:

- I do not know but the monster is getting ready to crush us, we have to run.

But then "Arsenio" started to scream in pain, he was being crushed by the invisible doors, but I did not want to lose my best friend again, I had to do something.

I looked at the toy in my hand and thought:

"It is not different from the toys here, yet it scared the other monster in our room, so I have to try to do something".

Without further thinking, I threw the toys with all my might to the monster, it was my last hope to save "Arsenio", I could not run like the last time and I was determined to save him at any cost.

The toy hit the monster very lightly but the monster took a step back and I heard its groan, the sound of its groaning was surprisingly sounded like that of a human; then the monster started to bend in pain while the purple electric waves turned into navy before they faded away then the monster dropped...

Dead!

I stared at the monster in disbelief wondering was it dead or just unconscious, but then I turned to "Arsenio" worried that I might have been too late but I found him setting on the floor trying to catch his breath while folding both of his arms around his body, it must had been very painful, I knew it because I felt it before.

After I made sure that he was ok I turned back to the monster and decided to take a step further to check it, I touched it with my feet very cautiously and it did not move.

At that moment, I noticed something strange, the toy I used to hit the monster with, had its colors turned into grey, I got close to it and grabbed it but then it burst into ashes in my hand.

I whispered:

"What was that?"

Here, I heard "Arsenio" screaming so I quickly turned to him, he was holding a black cloth in his hand and pointing at the monster's body so I turned my eyes to it and I could not believe what I saw...

The monster's head was a man's head, eyes gazed and mouth open widely as if this man was electrified to death.

Here "Arsenio" said in a trembling voice:

- I touched its head and it felt like like cloth so I pulled it off, but I did not expect that.

He paused for a second before asking me:

- Are those monsters...humans?
