Chapter 2 Situated above the student level, the dragonlet nests surrounded a much larger circle, the vast courtyard made of rough blocks of purple stone. Several rings of rounded huts that didn’t look a whole lot bigger than Wyja’s own private rooms spread out from the center. The openings were wide, though, and much lower, and the hollowed out spaces under each could hold several human huts. The lazy dragonlets scattered around their courtyard followed every move of the humans and dragons, turning their too-big-for-their-bodies heads from side to side. This batch ranged from a bit smaller than Wyja up to half of Dalto’s length at fifteen of her long strides. Even on such an overcast day, she could make out shades of brown and green, with a few reddish beasts for good measure. As usual
