Despite his initial disappointment Jason continued to trail behind his sister and before long they could hear the fast pace rushing of water.
By this time the amber glow of the daylight had faded leaving behind the swirl of deep blue skies and stars that occasionally peaked through the opening of the canopy. At one point the young wolf thought he caught sight of a moonlight glimmer in the trees beside them, he knew it wouldn't be much longer before the moon goddess herself guided the moon to its peak.
'The clearing is up ahead, remember the rules little brother' the sudden noise of his sister's voice in his mind brought his attention forward, thats when he noticed she had dropped her pace to run behind him. She was right and Jason could see the moonlight rays illumunating the clearing ahead, the noise of water crashing down becoming clearer with each step.
As soon as they all reached the open space, Jason was in awe. The large lagoon was like a mirror reflecting the clear skies above, he had been here before but never during such a clear night and never during a full moon. He became mesmerised as the full moons rays danced on the surface causing it to appear almost irredescent. The falls on the far end of the lagoon reflected the different colours creating a rainbow mist at its base. Alistair had decided to continue around the lagoon and climb the steep cliff edge to the highest perch at the top of the falls. It was a perfectly positioned viewpoint on the royal packs western territories.
After such a long journey Sasha and Ethan decided to bask in the moonlight at the waters edge, whilst Jason got closer in order to quench his thirst. As he lapped up the cool waters, he heard a wonderous howl eminnate the air around them. As he lifted his head from the waters surface to look up he saw a majestic grey wolf singing a meloncoly to the moon above, it wasn't long before two more wolves joined the chorus and soon Jason himself felt compelled to accompany such a beautiful song.
Alistair felt in his element howling to the full moon and his wolf wanted to savour the moment. As his song ended he continued to gaze at the white orb above and wondered when he would next get to experience this again. His gaze was drawn to the lagoon below, where he saw his friends bathing in its luxurious waters.
Jason had been the first to jump in, he wanted to enjoy his time here and what better way than to have a dip. It took a little taunting for him to get Sasha to join, but he always knew which buttons to push to get his sisters attention. And this time it was a competition, the winner the first to catch a fish. Ethan joined in as he thought it would be an interesting way to pass the time, he had just dived under the water when a rippling spash nearby caused the shoal of fish to scatter. Reaching for the surface he found himself face to face with Alistair who was holding a large salmon between his teeth.
