Chapter 4

Today was my first day at work, so I wanted to get something for Ciara just to make her happy after our last disagreement.

Working with Ciara in the same school was so much fun since I had someone to talk to and share my lunch with, but there was one thing that was always on my mind and tagt was the fear of - Kaylden- and his wovles.

Although Ciara gave a suggestion that I leave town, but running away from a place I stayed for 6 years won't be that easy, I think all I have to do is to stop going out in the night to run, at least that will make the wovles cool down a little.

"Hey Maria.., so how tell me how is your first day teaching" Ciara said in a naughty tone while entering my office with Rebecca,

Remember, Rebecca was the girl who introduced me to her cousin, Benson when I and Ciara went shopping the very day I got a job. Rebecca is also a teacher in the school where I just got a job, and she and Ciara both shares an office.

“hmmmm, well you know am kind of getting it right, although it has not been easy for me" I said bringing out some things I bought for Ciara and myself.

"Oh my god Maria you have to buy this, isn't it adorable" Ciara said shoving a green jumper with small foxes on it into my arms.

The jumper actually wasn't that bad it was the fact that I was supposed to wear it made it seem horrendous.

"You know what Ciara I think it would suit you much better" She pinned the jumper against herself and looked in the mirror.

"You really think so" she asked and I nodded, she smiled and went on searching for more clothes to on my desk.

This continued for a few minutes until break was over. While Ciara was suggesting something, then me telling me which one fit me the most.

"Look isn't it nice. Why don't you go try it on?" I said holding up a pale yellow mini skirt.

"That is the ugliest skirt I have ever seen" Ciara said pretending to fake gag.

"It's not that bad" I said holding it up against myself.

"Ew Em that skirt is disgusting" Rebecca one of the other teacher in the office said joining in on the conversation

"see I told you"Ciara pointed out.

"It's not that bad" I snorted

"Trust me it's making my eyes bleed"

Rebecca nodded, telling me she agreed with Ciara

"You can't talk, the outfit you arrived here in looked like it was picked out of a trash can" Mabel another school teacher added.

"Actually I got it from a clothing recycling bin" I stuck out my tongue at her.

"Okay Mabel now that is disgusting" Julia, another teacher said walking up to us.

"Oh …what Maria you basically bought these from a thrift shop" Rebecca said, while looking at me and the other teachers in the office.

I know it's nothing like a thrift shop but I had to say something to save my reputation. Rebecca the most feared rouge, and she is also one of Kayden's bait, although she does not know I am also a rouge.

"Yeah accept the people who buy the clothes wash them first" Mable replied smugly I huffed and walked away, and Ciara trailing behind me because I was already angry.

It's not like they couldn't wash it anyway, I was living in the apartment, and moreicer that was my first day at work, and I was also broke so that was all I could afford. I and Ciara headed over to Costa Coffee in the school's cafeteria and ordered some food and drinks.

I got a hot chocolate and a cheese sandwich. We were sitting at a round table, when Mabel and Rebecca joined us, they were busy discussing the latest gossip, whilst Julia was busy talking to a male teacher.. well I guess he was her boyfriend guessing from the blush on her cheeks.

And I was sitting here observing everyone, with my hot chocolate in my hands taking small sips every so often.

"So Maria" I looked over to the person who had addressed me. Rebecca was now sitting facing me her phone now on the table in front of her.

"How is your love life?" I nearly spat out the drink I was drinking, who just comes out with a question like that. I swallowed the drink before recomposing myself.

"It's non-existent" Everyone at the tables attention was now on me, Julia and Ciara, and even the Male teacher whose name I can't figure out had abandoned there conversation and Rebecca was still facing me.

"What come on you and Benson will make a good couple, moreover I can see the way he was looking at you, there must be some chemistry" Julia said, Ciara nodded in agreement.

"There is chemistry I just choose to ignore it" I said pretending . Mabel and Ciara had a look of disbelief on their faces whilst Julia sat there looking smug?

"I knew it!" Julia screeched, deafening me and by the looks of it anyone in a 10 mile radius

"I thought at first that you weren't a very touchy feely person but now looking back you are now the one tripping" Julia adeed

"I haven't been tripping for him…just want to him him a chance, I accept it I just don't want to commit to someone" I said in defense

"Why don't you want to commit?" Julia asked, okay now this is starting to feel like a therapy session.

"Guys this isn't a therapy session" I said trying to turn the conversation around.

"Just tell us why you don't want to commit" Rebecca said and everyone looked at me

"Drop it" My voice hard and firm.

"Come on just-" Julia's voice was just as firm telling me she was going to be very persistent.

"Drop it" The atmosphere was getting tenser and I think everyone could feel it to.

"I'm not going to dr-"

"Drop it Now!" The atmosphere was beyond tense, a few heads went to turn our way. The table was beyond awkward, Rebecca was fiddling with her phone looking around, Ciara was messing with her drink, Julia was drumming her fingers on the table yet she still had a fierce look in her eyes whilst I was staring off ahead beyond furious.

A few minutes later some Benson and his friends had arrived at our table, They were all chatting noisily, but sensing the tense atmosphere quieted down. Kendrick one of the went and sat close to me while the rest also sat down close to Rebecca, Mabel and Ciara. Julia and Mathew (the male teacher) both sat on separate chairs. Julia was still mateless but she had a boyfriend his name was Dominic I think, but I still wonder while she flirtse alot with Mathew.

"You alright love" Benson asked sensing my anger, I hummed in response. Benson ran his fingers up my arm leaving a tingling sensation, the mate bond slowly dimming my anger.

"Why so tense?" Loius one of his friends asked, directing the question to everyone instead of just his mate(Mabel).

"You know just girl stuff" Rebecca responded after a moment of silence.

"Like" Luke another of Benson's friend prodded, even going as far as to use a hand motion.

"Like ya mum now shut it" The boys snickered at my response whilst Luke sat there pouting.

The boys sat there talking about their day, apparently they had been to the cinema to see Insidious. And made a bet, whoever screams first pays for the arcade machines, Luke lost. We then proceeded to tell them about our day leaving out the fight, obviously.

I did manage to buy some clothes that I like, I bought some more colourful leggings with cute jumpers and tops. I also bought some converse and flats, and some cute little socks that had cute lace on the top.

And my all time favourite a leather jacket with fake studs. Overall I think I did good, but I'm never going shopping with them again there crazy.

It was a crazy day and to start my first day at work. Everybody bidded each other goodbyes and went to our various destination. I and Ciara took my bike, so I droppee her at her apartment and went to my own.

I was so tired when I got home and just went straight to the bedroom I moved around on the bed, I hit something hard. Slowly I started to open my eyes, there next to me was my sleeping Benson. I shot up and off the bed, slowly Benson opened his eyes. He looked over to where I was laying earlier, his eyes held a cunning and suspicious smile. He then looked up and spotted me standing at the end of his king size bed.

"Good evening love" He smiled at me but I just stared at him in shock.

"My names Benson alpha, love whats yours?" He said

"Maria" Benson called out trying to bring me out of my socken state. He sat there for a moment and then something clicked in his head.

"Wait! Maria, are you a rouge?!" He asked looking straight into my eyes. I just nodded and looked down at my hands awkwardly playing with my fingers. I didn't want to look up to scared to see his reaction. Slowly I looked up to see his eyes on me, they held lust, and admiration.

I smiled, knowing that my Benson isn't disgusted in me.

“ Wait, Matia snap out of it you don't need Me". My face then turned expressionless, Benson continued to silently stare at me making me uncomfortable. my stomach rumbled breaking the silence and tension filled air.

"Come on let's go get Dinner" I nodded eagerly and followed him out of my room and down the stairs. I can't say no to dinner, it's been years since I've had a male with a guy. We walked into my empty kitchen since I mostly eat out, and Benson signalled me to sit while he was making dinner for us. I sat on one of the stools at the dinning table that was in the kitchen facing Benson.

Although I was supposed to be angry with Benson for coming into my apartment without my permission, but c'mon he was the only guy in the last 6years who showed love and affection towards me, and since he is the only and and Ciara who knows I am a rogue…I guess the best thing is to stay with him, moreober he wll be paying for the house rent for next month a d the subsequent months, so I guess that's the best way to live my life as a rogue.

I heard the door open and I looked over to see Benson aides was at the door, I asked him to come in, he looked at Benson then at me with questions on his face.

"What is that doing here?!" I snarled at him my anger increasing. I knew I should've took those anger management classes.

"Dave" Benson warned, wrapping his arms around me.

I fort in his grip, wriggling around trying to get him to release me. Finally I just stopped and gave in, he loosened his grip on me.

"Looks like someone's got anger issues" Dave smirked at me. All I saw was red, I fort in Benson's grip and because his grip was loose I was able to get out. I jumped onto Dave and started to punch his face, I felt tingles shoot through my body and knew Benson was trying to lift me off him.

"Shhh Maria calm down" He stroked my hair and was rubbing his hand up and down my back. I started to relax in his grip, I breathed in his intoxicating scent and felt myself become calmer. I snuggled my head closer into him.

"I'm sorry" It was muffled because of my head being on his chest. Wait did I just say sorry, I never say sorry and I mean never. Not even the time when I nearly broke my brothers neck did I say sorry.

"It's okay, baby" He pushed me back and looked into my eyes. I felt myself get lost in them, cheesy i know but it's true. He kissed my forehead and pulled me back over to the stool.

"Now let's go have that Dinner" I nodded and sat in thought. I can't believe I just let that go I just got so caught up in being in his arms. I put a blank expression on my face as Benson came over a few minutes later putting a plate of pancakes in front of me, my mouth watered at the sight. I picked it up with my hands and started to shove it in my mouth. I finished them in minutes, I looked up to see Benson watching me in amusement. I was never a polite and mannered person so why start now.

I heard the door open and I looked over to see a group of people come in with his personal assistant. The group went and grabbed dinner while the

P.A walked over to us, he sat next to Benson, opposite me.

"Hey we haven't been properly introduced, my names Mike" He put his hand out for me to shake but I just stared at it.

"Your supposed to shake it" I looked up to see a guy from the group standing there smirking at me.

"I know that" I spat, I looked back at Mike and he put his outstretched hand away. He scratched the back of his neck awkwardly and looked away as he spoke.

"So..I..um sorry about before, you know when we attacked you." He looked back up to me, smiling sheepishly.

"It's fine" I looked back over to Benson who had a frown etched onto his perfect face. Wait did I just say perfect god snap out of it Maria.

He abruptly stood up from his stool and looked over to me.

"I have to go, I need to call some people" I nodded and he left, I looked back to Mike.

"Don't you have to go?" I asked.

"Nope" He said popping the 'p'

"I'm staying with you for the night"

"Like a babysitter?" I asked, he nodded and jumped of the stool he was sitting on.

"Exactly like a babysitter or what" I growled.

"I do not need a babysitter, am just here to keep you company while Benson and the workers at the factory go check on some things, moreover I have to finish some sorting out before tomorrow!" He just replied with a smirk and walked out of the room. I followed him shortly after, I walked into what seems to be a game room. It had a black 'L' shaped couch facing a 62' TV, with a glass coffee table infront.

"Do you want to play on the Xbox?" I nodded eagerly, jumping up and down like a kid wanting candy. All thoughts of being babysat aside. I used to have an Xbox in my old pack while I was a little girl but my brother hardly ever let me go on it, but I guess my relationship with benso and all his staffs is getting better by the day. So whenever I did I used to love it playing it for hours on end. I walked over to the cabinet where the games were kept and picked up 'Call Of Duty 2'8.

"Can we play this?" Mike looked up and nodded, I smiled and ran over to the machine to put it in.

"Do you know how to play?" I gave him a look, he put his hands up in mock surrender.

"Only asking" I picked up the remote and started to play 'gun game' which is my favourite minigame on COD BO 2 (Call Of Duty Black Ops 2)ever.

The aim of the game is to shoot people whenever you do you get given a different gun. The winner is the person who manages to kill everyone with all the different guns. We played a few rounds with me winning each time, I jumped off the couch and started to do a victory dance. We must have done a lot more then a few rounds since it was now dark outside.

Least I forget to tell you, Benson is the sweetest guy I have ever met and I will be with him forever.
