Chapter Seven

Sapphire's POV;

I wake up, and Ruby was laid behind me, I turn over to face her. "Morning Ruby, what's up?" I ask her.

"I missed you last night, I was hoping to spend some time with you," she tells me sadly. 

"I will spend time with you, I'm not going anywhere, and I don't have to be in Cameron pocket all the time, I may be starting school soon so we may see each other then and I will need your help studying if you don't mind," I ask her.

"Let's go get breakfast," I say, smiling at her. 

"Ok, let's go," she says as she rolls her eyes at me.

As we walk into the kitchen we see Cameron and Brodie talking, we get our pancakes and sit with them, Ruby sits next to Brodie, and I sit next to Cameron he leans over and kisses me on the cheek. 

"Morning beautiful," he says to me, and Brodie made noises like he was going to be sick.

"Shut up you," I say throwing a blueberry at Brodie, unbelievable he cached it with his mouth. 

"How are you this morning?" Cameron asked me.

"I am ok I have to go down to school today," I tell him.

"Brodie, are you busy today," I ask him.

"Why do you want to know," he asks me. "I would like to spend time with you and get to know you," I inform him. "Well, I am fishing today for the pack, but you are more then welcome to come with if you want," he says to me. 

"Why not could we go by school so I can get my results please?" I ask him.

"As long as your only 5 minutes, or we will be out there in the dark, and I don't want to do that with a newbie on board," he says.

"I won't give me 5 minutes to get dressed," I say before running upstairs to get dressed.

I am back down in 5 minutes Cameron and Brodie are still talking when I walk back into the kitchen.

"I am ready," I say happily.  "We have to wait for Ruby she wants a lift to school," Brodie says to me.

"Ok," I reply as I stand next to Cameron, he moves his seat back and pulls me on to his knee. "Will you to get a room," he says to us.

"I hope you aren't that long today I will miss you," he says sadly.  

 "I will miss you too," I say to Cameron.

"Ready," Ruby says as she walks into the kitchen.

I get up and head towards the front doors. Cameron walks with us to Brodie's car. As we are walking all we hear is "Shotgun," Ruby shouts. 

I don't mind as I can sit in the front after we drop her off at school. We get to Brodie's car. Cameron turns me around to look at him.

"Stay safe, and hurry back," he says to me. I look up into his eyes, and we kiss it was so soft and sweet, it felt like he was putting all his feeling into that kiss. 

"Put her down you don't know where she has been," Brodie says jokingly. 

"I will see you when we get back," I say to Cameron giving him one more kiss then get in the car.

We set off to the school when we get there Ruby, and I jump out Ruby see Conna "See you later," Ruby says to me, and she waves at Brodie. 

I go to reception "Hi, I have come for my GED results," I say to the receptionist.

"What is your name, Miss," she asks me.

"My name is Sapphire," I was about to say my last name. 

"Yes, Sapphire I have them here for you," she says. 

"Thank you," I say as she passes them to me. I open them and see that I only need to do four subject's, and I start them next week. When I get back to the car, I jump in the front next to Brodie, and we head to the boat. "So how are your results," Brodie asks me?.

 "I only need to do four subjects to pass all of my GED's," I say to Brodie. 

"That's good, and you haven't been to school for almost 2 years?" Brodie asks me. 

"Yeah about that long," I say. 

We get on the boat I help get the boat ready to go, we sail for about one hour then lower the net its not a big net but we sit and enjoy some quiet time "There is something peaceful about the sea," Brodie says to me.

"What do you like doing in your spare time," I ask him.

"Well, I love fishing and been outside. "When I am not on board this boat, I like to keep busy," He says to me.

 "I am the same; I have to be doing something," I tell him. "Brodie, what's wrong?" I ask him.

 "I need to apologise to you I was meant to be watching you wail you were playing outside wail mum was making lunch, you asked me for a drink, so I went to get you one, Ruby had followed me in, but you was still outside when I came back out you had gone I ran back into mum to tell her, we looked everywhere, if I had got you to come in with me you wouldn't have been taken, that is one of the reasons why I like to keep busy," He says to me with tears in his eye's.

"Brodie, it's not your fault that I was taken, how were you meant to know what was going to happen," I say to him and go hug him. "Please stop blaming yourself, please for me," I say to him as we stand and hug each other.

"You would always want to be with me, especially when Cameron was around you even called him your boyfriend back then and if we ever went out as a family you would always hold my hand," he says to me.

"Do you think Cameron remembers that I hope not, are you ok with me being with him, I know you are best friends and I would never want to come between you both," I say as I sit next to him.

"I don't know if he remembers or not," Brodie says to me. "I think you too are meant to be together, I would be proud to call you Luna when the time comes," he says sweetly to me. "But that's then, and this is now, so it's time to work," he tells me and puts me to work.

"It's time to pull up the net, and then we have to gut and ice the fish. Then if we have time, we can put the net out again," Brodie tells me.

 "Sounds good to me," I tell him.

We pull the net in its only small, but its full Brodie puts some of the fish on the table in front of us, and we get to work gutting and icing the fish. We box them up and put them in the ice storage.  "Want to go back or fish some more?" Brodie asks me. 

"I am fine with staying out a bit more if you are," I say to him. He puts the net back out, and we sit and eat our pack ups mum made us. 

When we finish eating, we sit and talk about anything. I am loving being on the boat with Brodie and getting to know him, we joke about a bit, but he is looking after me. 

"what's your favourite food?" I asked him. 

"I love burgers and fries with a milkshake," he says to me. "What film do you like watching?" I ask him. "If I tell you you are not to laugh at me," he says, looking at me. 

"I will do my best not to laugh at you," I promise him. "I love watching the Dark Crystal and Never-ending Story, Rocky and child's play and Gremlin's," he says to me.

"I love Never-ending Story, Dark Crystal too and Watership down, but that makes me cry, I don't do horror film's," I say to him as a shiver run's down my back.

"Do you ever think mum and dad would ever let me train to fight or even defend myself?" I ask him.

"Nope, they wouldn't allow you to train, how could they think of you training doing when they have just got you back, so they won't want to think of you training to fight and lose you again," he explains to me. 

"I could do with knowing how to defend myself just in case anything happens," I say to him.

"I agree with you on that but only that, so if you don't tell mum or dad when we have some free time I will train you in defence only, I always found it hard to say no to you," he says to me. 

"Time to get the net up again, get ready," he tells me.

"Yes, boss," I say giggling.

We have this load done sooner then we think and have time to get one more load in so we put the net back out for one last time. "We will need to go down and sort all the boxes down there to make space for the next load," Brodie tells me. "I don't think that I have ever had this much fish even with help," he says proudly of us.

"I don't think I had ever had 3 loads done before even if I had 2 more helper's with me, you can come more often if you would like to?" he asks me.

"I would love too it's been nice spending time with you," I tell him.

All of a sudden we feel the net pull the boat back a little, we both run to the back of the boat to see if we can tell what it was. That is when we see it, the net was overfull. "I don't know if we will fit all of this in," he says, looking gobsmacked. "We could do as much as we can, and if we go back after this load we could still ice them till we get back if that will work?" I say to him.

"We are going to need help getting all these fish to the pack's freezer," he says as we finish with the fish.

"When we get closer I will link with Ruby and get her to let mum or dad know to send help," I say to him. "Can you link with Ruby that far away?" he asks me. "I think so as I could feel the link when I was in Lund," I say to him he was shocked at how far that is, and that was before we had linked together. 

We were pulling up to the docks, and we saw that there was only a couple of the pack there wasn't enough to do it in one trip. "Conna, when you get back to the packhouse, can you get more help we need more cars?" I ask him. 

"I don't mind making more than one trip," he says to me.

"Well come look then you can tell me if you can be here all night doing it," I say walking to the freezes Conna is following me. "Look," I say to him.

"Ok, I will get more help, I would still be doing it in the morning," he says to me. "You too must be robots to get this much," Conna says to us both. 

"It was mainly Sapphire she is a hard worker," Brodie says to Conna.

When Conna came back he had 2 more cars to fill, Ruby gets out of Conna's car and comes over, "Conna said that you needed more help," she says as she pulls me into a hug. "Awww Sapphire you stink of fish," she says laughing at me.

Ruby was helping load the cars up, I passed the last box to Ruby, "Brodie we are all finished now," I tell Brodie.

"That's fine I am going to clean the boat down, Sapphire," Brodie says to me.

"Yes, Brodie," I say, turning around to look at him.

"Thank you for today, I have missed you," he says to me, but I know what he is meaning.

"I had a lovely time, thank you, Brodie, love you," I say to him. "I will see you at the house, Ruby, see you later Conna, thanks for the help," I say to them as Conna drive's off back to the packhouse.

"Don't mind if I get a lift with you do you?" I ask him.

"No need," he says, pointing behind me.

Cameron is pulling up as he sees me a big smile appears on his face, he gets out of his car and walks over to the boat.

"You alright down there, Brodie?" Cameron asks him.

"I will be after washing the boat and some rest, I think someone was trying to put me to shame today," he says jokingly. 

"I saw you had courted a lot today how many times did you get the net out?" Cameron asked Brodie.

"Three, thanks to Sapphire, she puts most of the men that come and help to shame, it was like having 2 other's with me today," Brodie says, sounding proud again.

"Don't mind if I steal her for a bit, do you?" Cameron asks Brodie.

"No but behave," he says, smiling.

"Want a drive home?" Cameron asks me.

"Your car might stink afterwards," I say to him. He gave me a funny look. "Ruby said I stink of fish," I say to him and my face turns red.

"All I can smell is you," Cameron says, walking over to me. He stands right in front of me looking down at me straight into my eyes, I look up at him and into his eyes. It felt like we had been stood there forever when I hear my stomach saying it hungrily.

We walk over to Cameron's car holding hands. I love the feel of my hand in his. Cameron drove in silents when we get back to the packhouse he didn't get out I turned to look at him, he looked like he wants to say something.

"Cameron, what's up?" I ask him. He looks at me.

"How do you feel about me?" he asked me, looking worried. I turned to face him, but I was looked down wail I am playing with my fingers. He lifts my chin to look into his eyes. I took a deep breath.

"I am hoping that when I turn eighteen, I can accept you as my mate and that even thou we have only none each other days that I am falling in love with you and I could see me spending the rest of my life with you, I miss you when I am not with you," I say to him. "How do you feel about me?" I asked Cameron.

He looks me in the eye and "I think this could tell you," Cameron says and pulls out a small box he opens it. Inside there is a ring. "This is a promise ring. I promise that I will wait for you till you turn eighteen and I am hoping beyond hope that you will accept me as our mate," he says to me I can hear his emotion's in his voice I look him in the eyes.

 "I wish I were eighteen tomorrow so we would know so we can start our life together," I say to him moving closer to him. I put my hands on his face and pull him and kiss him. It's a sweet, and then I let him put the ring on my finger.

Then he pulls me on to his knee I turn around so I am facing him and I have a leg at each side of him. We kiss it has so much more passion in it. I never want to stop kissing him. He stops kissing me. I didn't know why I didn't notice that I forgot to breathe, but I look at him to see what I did wrong.

"You did nothing wrong I needed to stop before we go too far. I can feel what he means its nice knowing you have that effect, someone. It gives you confidence.  

"Let's go have some dinner, I get off him, "Would you like to come and watch a film or some tv in my room or yours?" I ask him.

"We could go sit in my room if you would like?" he asks me. We walk over to the house and into the kitchen to get dinner. Mum comes over "I am so proud of you Sapphire, you did good today," mum says proudly. Dad walk's into the KItchen, "I hear someone has done well at fishing today," dad says with a big smile on his face.
