Four
Wednesday morning arrived with the usual birdsong. No-one had told the birds anything was different or that Paul had spent most of the night tossing and turning and waiting for the telephone to ring. There was no need for the alarm clock. He was awake when six o’clock rolled around. He got up, showered and dressed. At six thirty he woke the boys to see whether they still wanted to go to school. Matthew still wanted to go and complete the test he had been preparing for. Luke decided that it was probably the best course of action, as he didn’t want to just sit around and wait for something to happen.
After breakfast Paul drove the boys to school. Once at school, the boys went off to catch up with their friends before classes started. Paul went to the school office to see Alice Young,
