Chapter Fifty-OneI fell and fell for seconds that seemed forever, then jarred when my feet touched hard ground. I stumbled with the impact, fell to one knee. The familiar sting of the needle-sharp rock went unnoticed, taking a backseat for the jolt of paralyzing terror filling me. It was that familiar fear every time I came near this man, that cold terror riding with the blood traveling through my veins, filling my body with its potent venom. It made me forget reason, and the terror was now combined with the certainty I was his to command, his to be called upon whenever, wherever, no matter what.
